What a treat right next to the airport. The beef burrito was outstanding as I ate as much as I could from my girlfriends plate :) the shrimp tacos were also outstanding!

“Diego's - Start and End Your Cozumel Experience Here”
Reviewed March 28, 2014

Diego's is less a restaurant than it is a roadside taco stand but don't let the meager appearance fool you. At the corner of 65 Ave and the airport road (Antonio González Fernández), it is situated less than a 3 minute walk from the airport terminal, close enough to drag a couple of bags when coming or going by plane - many travelers I've run into there simply checked their luggage in and ran over for a quick bite.

I live in Cozumel and it is, by far, one of my favorite "local" places to eat breakfast or lunch. The menu features simple but typical Mexican fare that spans breakfast through dinner and we've always had the very best experiences there. If want a beer with your meal you'll have to bring your own. Diego's is run by a family who truly cares about what they are doing, the food they are serving and the people they are feeding; they are carrying on very well what Diego started before he passed away not long ago. Their love for him is surely translated through their food and service.

Do not miss the shrimp tacos or the salsas, ESPECIALLY the special garlic habanero sauce... if you can stand a bit of heat! Ask for it, if it's not already on the table.

Ordering in English is not a problem at all, so don't be shy.
