Cozumel has a thousand places to eat with a lot of great food. It's hard to get excited about taste when almost every place you go has something special and good but Diego's has more to offer. His food is great but he and his family offer an eating experience you cherish long after your departure. Your meal is a family affair. You probably stop there because he is the closest eating spot near the airport and you can catch a cab for a quarter of the price of transportation from the airport but you fall in love with his family and food while waiting. My wife and are cyclist and spend the winters in Cozumel and weekly we go there for lunch or dinner. Diego will also cook a lobster or grouper dinner by candle light under the stars for you on request which we also do whenever friend from the states visit. You would be happy to hear his fee with everything include is usually around $15 per head. Restroom facilities are a bit rustic but that has a tendency to add to the adventure along with the whole dinning experience. Diego's English is good enough to express his stories of Cozumel and the history of the area for those interested while waiting for your food and naturally he knows everything of interest on the island. Do yourself a favor and stop by Diego's. His restaurant is under the blue tarp right outside the airport and you will never regret your experience nor the money you might save on cabs from the airport.
