We walked off the beaten path to find this little burrito shack everyone raves about. Inside the three tables were packed with happy customers. The first table: college kids making their second visit of the week. The second table: a father and his three adult sons who stop for burritos before ever dive. The third table: that was us! We watched the owner making each and every burrito and then gab with the customers! He joked about sports with the divers and said goodbye when the college kids left! Like a friend. And we were friends with this delightfully humble and happy Mexican man before we left too. He told us he couldn't beeline his little burrito shack was number one on trip advisor and how three years earlier he was making just $15 a day cooking for someone else when he and his wife who is American decided to become business owners. He told us how he laughs at the photo on Facebook of his first burrito and how he perfected the craft. And that he gets up at 5am each morning to have "a lot of coffee" before he drives to the grocery store for fresh produce and meat. His children accompany him and he drops them off at school before heading to his little shack to make fresh pulled pork, chicken, beef, fish and to cut up the most buttery avocados and cheese. I'm not sure if I loved the burrito or him more. Definetly one of our favorite stops in a week long visit to Cozumel!
