Thanks to our driver, Marco, we had a wonderful day . His English is perfect (he also speaks French) and is a student of the intriguing history of the island. He suggested an itinery based on our interests and off we were to the very interesting historical section of town. Then after doing a couple of the tourist spots, the tequila tasting is fun, we headed to lunch. On Marco's recommendation we ate at a small local cafe which served a delicious "fresh that day" sauteed grouper plate. The afternoon was spent driving the beautiful ocean side of the island with its multicolored waters. It was so relaxing and enjoyable we spent two extra hours. A great day.
