We arrived around 4:00 PM on 01/18/14. Check in was a pain. We had two couples and one solo arriving. The couples made reservations via Apple in Oct. and the solo guest signed on in Dec. One couples room wasn't ready, the solo got a great room on the third floor with a king size bed and the other couple was assigned a room on the third floor that was occupied.
Before we moved any bags, hoping to get the third room assigned, we were sat down in the nice lobby couch areas and given our $200 free voucher speech. (worthless IMHO). And then were tried to get nailed down on scheduling a time to view their other properties. (Time share presentation.) We declined an told the lady after listening her for the last half hour or so that we really wanted to get a drink and a bite to eat. The next day she chased us around when we seen her until one of us told her we weren't interested and leave us alone. After that no more bothers from her.
Off to the two rooms we went.
We took both couples luggage to the 2331 and the key's didn't work,. The number was written by the clerk at the desk on the map I was given and shown to the bell hop. He then used his key to opened the door and quickly pulled it closed when we could see personal items in the room. (what a shock for those folks). (I felt sorry to the bell hop for carrying several of the bags up three floors needlessly.)
The bell hop ran down to lobby and returned with another room assigned, 2313. We moved both couples luggage to this room until the second couples room was located. What a terrible room 2313 was.
It has a view of the rear walkway and storage shed, the torn screen in bathroom let mosquitos in, the safe was locked open, mini fridge didn't work, mold on the wall, towel rack falling off. OMG, this vacation is going to suck! We asked for a different room and was told they'd have one the next day. During the night while using the bath room a large, 2", roach was seen on the floor. I caught it with toilet paper and flushed quickly down to toilet as it scampered to climb out, thank goodness my gal didn't discover this. The next morning, after a sleepless night, were moved to a much nicer room. What a relief it was to be out of that room. As we passed that room during our stay we could tell nothing had been done to the room as the drapes where still opened as we had left them for several day. I guess this was the "last room" available. Yuk!
Both couples had rooms with twin full size beds which were comfortable but single kings would have been nice.
Things became enjoyable around lunch time. The rooms were taken care of, time share lady was off our back, vacation was back on track. :)
From there on out everything was great, friendly staff, decent food, great house keeping and perfect weather.
All five of us agreed that we'd return to this property again.
