We recently returned from Cozumel and, after doing some research about local restaurants & bars near our condo, we learned that Buccanos was close by.
Buccanos is clearly a destination hotspot for cruise-travelers but, even though the place was busy, we were seated right away. The menu was surprisingly comprehensive and our group decided to order a number of appetizers, including grilled shrimp, nachos, pizza, and guac/chips. We didn't have high expectations, but were pleasantly surprised when the food came to our table. It was wonderful!!
As with any restaurant & bar in the tourist areas of Mexico, Buccanos isn't the cheapest place to eat. But, if you're missing some of the more appetizing dishes served back home, this is the place to get your fix.
Sadly, there's a hotel complex adjacent to Buccanos that appears to have been hit badly by a past Hurricane. I suspect Buccanos used to be the hotel's bar & restaurant, before it ended up being the only thing that survived (or, that was repaired). It definitely brings the ambiance down a notch, but the food and view definitely make it up for it.
We'll definitely be back. Be sure to order a Mojito and wear your swimsuit!
