My wife, Michelle and I have taken many tours in several different countries. Our experience with Cozumel Choice was the best we have ever taken.
We were in Cozumel over March break in 2013 and were looking to visit some ruins. Based on the positive feedback on tripadvisor, and the description in their website, we went with Cozumel Choice (aka Native Choice). We chose their Tulum tour because it allowed us to see ruins without spending a whole lot of time traveling from our resort.
We were initially greeted at our arrival point by Angela, who was going to be the tour guide for just the two of us at 10:30. We had arrived an hour early and asked if we could take the earlier (9:30) tour. Angela was fantastic (she even fixed my broken glasses) and introduced her to her sister, Sylvia, who took us out with another couple at 9:30.
Sylvia looked after us for the next 5 hours - and right from the start we were impressed with her warmth, sense of humour, depth of knowledge and enthusiasm about her culture.
We started by boarding the ferry. We chatted with the other couple while Sylvia looked after tickets and then guided us to our seats. After a comfortable ferry ride, we all got into a very clean, air conditioned van.
The 45 minute trip to Tulum seemed to go by in 5 minutes as Sylvia regaled us with information about the history of Cozumel, the Mayan culture and much more. During the tour itself at Tulum, she showed a great depth of knowledge that she relayed in a captivating and humourous fashion. She took us the best places to take pictures, and answered every question we had. I think we were there for about an hour and a half, which was just enough time to see everything we wanted to see. The trip back in the van was as fascinating as the trip there.
My wife and I will be going back to Cozumel next year. And we will be using Cozumel choice and specifically Sylvia!
