My family (husband and two daughters in their 20s) spent 10 days here. We had an awesome time and are saving to go back again.

The Star friends and staff are AWESOME. I cannot stress this enough! They treat you like you are family and make sure you are well taken care of. They get to know you and greet you by your first name. They work very hard on putting on a great evening show for you to enjoy. We have to thank the bar staff (especially Nicolas) at the pool for a job well done. They manage to keep the drinks flowing to keep the travelers happy. Another thanks goes to Mariana and the front desk staff. They did a wonderful job by answering all our questions, giving us rooms with ocean/pool views (best location we have ever had) and a bottle of wine in our room for our anniversary. You made us feel very special, Thank you so much! Our biggest thanks goes to the Star friends. I know I have mentioned them already, but they are what makes us keep coming back. A big thank you to Irving, Mari, Guillermo, Alexx and Francisco. You guys are the BEST!!!!! Thank you for making a trip so memorable! We appreciate you, all that you do, and think you are GREAT!
The grounds are beautiful. They keep them well maintained. The wildlife is an added bonus! It is a tropical paradise. The pool is wonderful, warm and relaxing. I brought a raft and spent most of the the floating in the pool. There are many food choices, so you should always be able to find something you like. We tried all 3 specialty restaurants. I hate to mention this, but feel I have to be honest. When we are at the Mexican restaurant our waiter forgot to bring my husbands appetizer, then brought him the wrong dinner (not what he had ordered) and argued that this is what he wanted. They never came back to refill our wine glass and my chicken tacos had no flavor and too much grizzle in the meat. Many guests mentioned the fact that you have to wear pants there and really were not happy about that. There is no reason. It is not fine dining. They other 2 restaurants were great. This was our first time at the Rock Star Cafe, and we only went because a couple we met who frequesnt the resort recommended it. It was actually our favoriate. The shrimp appetizer was wonderful. My salmon could have used a little seasoning, but I thoroughly enjoyed it and it was a large chunk of meat. My husband ordered the steak and said it was the best meal he had. The dinner buffet always had many options as did the lunch buffet. The cocktails are not too strong so you can drink all day. If you need them stronger, just ask and they will happily ablidge. Dont foget the drink of the day! The rooms are nice, and could probably use a little updating. They smell a little musty, but a quick spray of lysol (a small travel size i packed) and problem solved. The towel animals and flower petals are such a treat. Make sure to ask for a matress topper it makes a big differnce in the comfort of your bed. We joined in on many of the activites which is a lot of fun. They have a nice variety of things for you to do.
There is a lull between dinner and the show so we played cards (with the deck we brought) in the lobby while we enjoyed the music in the lobby. One night it was a mariachi band, very cool!! Snorkeling off the pier is very nice. There is a large variety of fish and other sealife. The beach is nice with a lot of palapas to sit under and a bar right there for you to enjoy. The only drawback is the entry to the water is coral not sand. If you enjoy the sea more than the pool this may be a drawback. I used to be, but now really enjoy the pool atmosphere which is great. People, music, warm water, and a swim up bar..what more could you ask for. I brough a raft and floated around most of the day. It was wonderful. My last comment is that we can not wait to go back and on our visit almost eveyone we talked to was a return guest, many go more than once a year and some had been there over 40 time. I think this says a lot for the resort!!! This was our third time at this resort. We have been at 2 others and this is where we want to come back!
If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask. Thank you again Iberostar on making our vacation one that we will never forget !!!! If you have any questions please feel free to ask...I love talking about this resort. It always puts a smile on my face!

The only down side to the Iberostar Cozumel is in the Food. The lack of variety of food is poor. Everyday, same meals / food options. Also meals that include a self creation like omlets or pasta dishes are incredibly slow. So to have one cook prepare one dish at a time creates long waiting times and cold food. I went with my family and some nights we all were in line for pasta and by the time the last person arrived at table, either everyone else was done or their food was cold for waiting to eat as a family.

Location is excellent, small, qaint accomodations. This was our second time there and loved it, just keeping in mind that the food is ok.

We stayed at the Iberostar in March of 2013. We travelled with West Jet and booked through Itravel 2000. The price was right, the flight was good and the hotel met all our expectations. The resort is a nice size, easy to walk to anywhere. The pool is basically right on the beach which was great. The beach is okay with lots of shade if desired. The entry into the water is best done off the dock as the coral reef does make it difficult to walk in off the beach.
The food was good, you will not go hungry. The drinks were good, not outstanding and could vary depending on the bartender and how busy they were but they did not run out of anything and the beer was always cold.
The Entertainment crew put on great shows in the evening, better than most places we have been.
The rooms are quaint, round huts, tiled floors, bath is large with walk in shower. Safe worked, fridge worked and was always replenished with water, pop and beer. The A/C worked and the cleaning staff did an excellent job.
We rented a Jeep and toured the island, it was great way to visit different places and get into town to shop. Had a great time and would return.

We would like to thank the people of Cozumel for hosting us on their beautiful Island. We spent the first week of May at the Iberostar resort. What a great time! The resort is clean. All of the staff are friendly. We thought the food was great. I suppose if you want upscale Fancy New York meals that is where you should go. We ate and drank to our hearts content. The pool was warm and clean. The snorkelling right off the resort was good. The highlight of our trip was Dressel Divers. Our 10 and 12 year old sons took the Discover Diving mini course and the four of us did two reef dives on my 50th birthday. We thought we would just be snorkeling with the boys but being able to dive with them was awesome! We saw an amazing amount of sea life on the two dives including turtles on both dives. Best birthday ever!!! The beds are a little on the hard side but they are not that bad and the rooms are not huge but we did not spend much time inside anyway. We all really enjoyed the different wildlife right on the resort, there was always something new popping up. If you want miles of sandy beach go to the Mayan Riviera but you won't have the snorkelling! We can't wait to return!
This has nothing to do with the resort but we want to send a warning. Do not stop and talk to anyone inside the airport. Go directly outside to your shuttle. We ended up getting ripped off by a time share guy named Louis Santos. The booth says tourist information but it is not!!! Do not talk to anyone inside the airport!. It was our own gullibility but it was an unfortunate downer at the start of our trip.

My family and I have been to Mexico 4 times!! We have been to playa del Carmen and we have been to Cozumel! At Cozumel we have stayed at el cozumelino and at iberostar. It was our second time to iberostar and we WILL be going back!! The food is awesome, the pool is awesome, the snorkeling is awesome, the scuba diving is awesome, the beach is awesome, the shows are awesome, the people you meet are awesome, and the time you have is awesome!! But there was one thing on this trip that WAS NOT NEAR awesome!! It was the star friends, and they wernt awesome because they were amazing!!! The hard work they did was amazing!! How friendly and easy to talk to and nice they were was amazing!!! Playing games with them was amazing!! And the best of all is I had made such a strong connection with them, that when I left I started tearing up because I KNEW I was gonna miss them!! And they made my stay here the most enjoyable thing, EVER! I hope to see them next year when I will be going back and seeing Guillermo, Jaime, Karla, Maria, Joël, and the rest of the crew!! This is by far the best resort in Cozumel and they pretty much have a zoo throughout the resort!!! Their service is great and the time you have and the things you see, EVEN BETTER!!

Just got back from my second trip to the Iberostar Cozumel. It was as good as it was the first time and the food was even better. (They have a new chef from Costa Rica--great custom salads at lunch!) The club was only 30% full so unfortunately the steak house and Mexican restaurant weren't open every night.

The diving was great as usual with Dressel Divers. For someone new coming here, a heads up, almost everyone is diving Nitrox here. I am going to get certified with Nitrox so I can have longer bottom time like everyone else.

The entertainment is ok, but with only 8 or 10 Star Friends, they are spread pretty thin. They do as good a job as they possibly can and are amazingly versatile.

I have already booked for the week between Christmas and New Years. I am coming back!

Dear Client

On behalf of all the staff and particularly the general manager at the Iberostar Cozumel we would like to thank you for choosing to stay for the second time with us and for sharing your experience with the online community.

We are glad to read that you really enjoyed the grounds, facilities, food and that the staff made you feel welcome once more during your recent stay.

Concerning the restaurant during low season it is true that we open only one specialty restaurant per night so our guests can enjoy the 3 of them during their stay.

We are looking forward to seeing you December here at your home away from home Iberostar Cozumel!
