We made early dinner reservations several days prior to New Year's Eve and we were hoping for a fabulous dinner, as we have dined here on previous trips to Cozumel. Reservations were at 6:30 and we were led to a table for 2 in the garden right next to another table for 2, with our tables parallel and approximately 1 foot apart. The "hostess" acted like a warden and pronounced that this is your table. Our neighbors were a pleasant couple but as we were the ONLY diners in the restaurant at the time, why did the hostess sit us right next to each other so that there was absolutely no privacy in conversing?! Apparently, they had only arrived minutes before us. We asked if we could be seated elsewhere to afford everyone some privacy. Our server, Rene, had to ask Jimmy, who came to us and explained that every table was reserved, but we could have this other table which had to be vacated by a certain time. This seemed reasonable to us, so we were seated at another table. As it turned out, other diners did not appear for about an hour after our arrival, so it would have been a very awkward meal. Other than that, service was impeccable and the food fabulous. Rene was a most gracious server, also Jimmy and the rest of the staff who also served our table. Thank you, Rene for making our last dinner in Cozumel most enjoyable!
