I stayed with my husband at this beautiful bed and breakfast, that has a great location, it is just 3 blocks from the oceanfront and close to many local restaurants. The owner is really nice and her breakfast service on the terrasse is great.
We are certainly going back and we recommend you to try it!

tamarindo was such a great place to stay! pretty grounds. clean, comfortable rooms. plenty of hot water, and good water pressure. big comfortable bed. it maybe a little hard for some people but i slept great in it. an airconditoner that worked awesome! after a long day in the heat and sun, this a welcome feature. another nice feature was the refridgerator. it was nice to have cold drinks waiting for us when we got back. unfortunatley we didnt get to meet elaine the owner of tamarindo. she was visting her other other home in france, but the couple she had caretaking the place for her were very warm, genuinely friendly, and very helpful. we immediatley felt comfortable and welcome, and that was grealy appreciated. we knew right away we made the right choice in staying here. i hope someday to return to cozumel, and when i do i will definetly stay at tamarindo again.

Tamarindo is a quaint B & B located in a very safe, quiet neighborhood in Cozumel. I took the ferry from Playa Del Carmen and when I arrived in Cozumel walked about 4 blocks to the Tamarindo. There are many local restaurants and a large grocery store all within walking distance. The rooms are nicely decorated and clean. I did not eat breakfast there as I left early in the morning to go scuba diving but I understand the breakfasts are delicious from other travelers. If you have any needs or wants the staff will do everything they can to help you out. Can't wait to return!!!!!

I travel frequently for business and leisure and am very critical about my lodging picks. Let me assure you, when you step inside the gates of Tamarindo B&B in Cozumel, you will immediately find a tranquil oasis to relax and unwind. It is situated in an authentic local Mexican neighborhood just a short 3 to 5 min walk from the hustle and bustle of downtown and the waterfront.

Eliane (a French native who speaks several languages including English and Spanish) is a warm and gracious host, with an eye for detail and great interest in making your visit a memorable one. Ask her for favorite places where the locals eat that are not touristy.

Tamarindo is a great value and very comfortable place to stay. Elianes French/Mexican breakfasts on the terrace or in your room are scrumptious!

Our favorite stash spots for great local food that are authentic and affordable, not to mention clean:
= La Mission: on Avenida 35th between Calle 4 Norte & Calle 2 Norte (about 1 min walk from Tamarindo). 3 huge tacos with custom fixins bar & sides for US$2.50

= Los Otates: Avenida 15th near Calle 1 : try the Gringas. Great cheap cerveza selection

= ........de Carribe (seafood): Avenida 65th & Calle 13: best ceviche, conch and marisco soup on the island. Affordable and excellent service. 25 peso taxi ride from downtown or Tamarindo

= Argentinian Empanada place: Avenida 15th & Calle 2 Norte: fantastic!!!!!

Try walking around town. Tamarindo is in a safe and very accessible neighborhood. If you are scuba diving or snorkeling. USE DEEP BLUE DIVE SHOP & ask for Volrath, Luis or Alex as your guide/ they are the friendliest & safest on the island and we did A LOT OF RESEARCH and trying places.

Enjoy. Adios amigos!

After finding Tamarindo B&B online and reading other reviews here, we took a chance and booked a room as it was so much more reasonable than anywhere else on the island we had researched. Once we arrived, we immediately realized that we had lucked out as it was even better than reported - a real treasure of a place from the wonderful location (only a few blocks walk to the waterfront), to reasonable prices, to fabulous hosts, to clean and comfortable accomodation. The breakfasts were always lovely - served on their roof top deck - and the little shared kitchen area was perfect to keep some food and basic food preparation. We loved being away from the main tourist area, but close enough to walk when we wanted to. Only a few blocks to the locals market and great little local restaurants, we felt like we'd had a real experience on the island. I can't wait to return!

This is our second stay with Tamarindo and we still really believe that this is a great value. Very good location - walking distance to town while being out of the touristy area; walking distance to some really wonderful restaurants in Cozumel (Kinta is new and excellent); walk to the dive shop each day. Elaine is so friendly and the other guests nice. We had an upper floor which we really enjoyed as we had the sound of the trees swishing around at night. The only things that need some work are the mattresses which are hard and not in a good way and the towels which are adequate but not what one would call fluffy and inviting. All in all however, we will likely be back next time we come through Cozumel. If you like staying in an authentic and nice place with wonderful hosts than you will enjoy.
