Second visit (after last year same time) …this time for 3 1/2 weeks.
Excellent again. The hotel staff keep the place so clean.
Spouse golfed EVERY day with other friends staying. I relaxed on beach, swam in the ocean every day. Beautiful clear water.
Staff are so friendly. They are all great but my two new favourites were Eduardo and Alejandro!
Enjoyed meeting up with friends at the beach bar every early evening.
Saw the dauphins several times this year.
There was a new menu and even after 3 weeks we could find new things and keep interested. We didn't do all-inclusive as I like to also eat out in the town at times. My favourites on the menu were the Playa Azul Shrimp (coconut), beet gazpacho and the flan.Fish of the day meal was always excellent too. Buffet breakfast is awesome and Angel makes great omelettes or eggs etc.
Ordered lunch at the beach bar most days.
Spouse caught fish from the end of the dock and twice the hotel chef cooked them for him!
Good snorkelling right off beach.
Spouse and 3 friends booked a fishing trip…be careful who you book with. There's was dodgy, booked via the guy at the sea-doo place on beach. The guy brought bait that was very old and useless!
We went to Woody's in town several nights for really good live entertainment, Pako was especially good. Loved going to Kondesa, Especias, Mission.
Mosaicoz in the Square has the best pizza and great for people watching.
Buccanos at Night is next door …only open Fri and Sat night, excellent food.
This year we discovered Hiroba sushi, went at least 4 times. Very good and hit the sushi craving spot!
Our only bad experience was going to Coconuts at the far side of the island….horrible tourist trap, rude waiter, so expensive!
At the hotel beach the bugs were bad this year….as soon as the sun goes down. So many bites, drove me crazy.
Researched once we were home (too late!) and found the "mosquitoes" there are not fazed by deet…so forget the usual water based repellents. Use oil based bug spray or even baby oil (according to internet!)
Another wonderful holiday. Sad to leave. Look forward to going again. Thanks Fernando and all the wonderful staff, you really make the place so perfect. Love Sue x
