“Good visibility”
Reviewed December 15, 2013

The waters are a deep clear blue which meant we saw lots of fish, reefs and even a turtle. The water is beautiful but we did find other spots on the Riveria Maya where we saw more sealife so not sure it was worth paying for a tour to go to Columbia Reef.

“Not too deep so snorkelers can enjoy it too”
Reviewed December 15, 2013

We visited this reef as part of a snorkeling boat tour. The reef is not too deep so we were able to get great views from the surface. There were a few in our group who were able to free dive and they surely got a better view. But I was very content with what I saw. I visibility is crystal clear and the corals are huge and very colorful. Good amount of fish swimming close to the surface. And we were fortunate to see a see turtle!

“Not Bad Snorkel”
Reviewed December 10, 2013

We were able to see sea turtles, a manta ray, and several barracuda. We used the "Fury" catamaran tour. They did nice job and were very safety oriented. We got some good pics.

“Great shallow dive”
Reviewed December 4, 2013

Great for a second/third dive, beginners, or snorkeling. Lots of life and good corals. Have seen plenty of crabs, lobsters, turtles, reef fish, eels, etc.. Averaging about 30' to bottom, this can easily be a 90 min dive on one tank.
