Our group of 18 did the Passio Island by Twiset excursion on July 31st. This was the best excursion we did on this cruise. This was my second time to go to the island and was far better than the first. We met the tour company right off the pier and they were ready to go as soon as we arrived. We were on boat #1 with Willy and Pepe as the crew. These two were absolutely fantastic! (If you get the opportunity, ask for them.) The first time I went the island, it was a long bus ride over some very rough roads, the boat ride is the only way to go. Willy and Pepe made sure that everyone's gear was secure in the boat and then the got everyone fitted with their floatation vests. On this day, there was a large drop from the pier to the boat and they made sure everyone got in the boat safely. The ride around the lagoon was a lot of fun with interaction from the crew. We really didn't know what expect about the spins, but they were a lot of fun. When we got to the island, we were met by personnel who equally nice and helpful. We did the buffet lunch, which was very good, and then went out to the beach area. The group played volleyball, swam, lounged in hammocks, and just relaxed. The most important thing here was the relaxing. It was easy to relax and unwind here. When it was time to go, eveything was handled really well. We went through the same processes and got back on the boat, did some more spins and then went back to the dock. This excursion was an excellent choice.

We booked this excursion through http://cometocozumel.com (although the excursion is actually provided by http://www.isla-pasion.com) and were initially disappointed with their service. We were instructed to wait in front of Carlos 'n Charlie's restaurant at 10:30am for an 11:00am pick-up. At 11:00am when no one showed up, we attempted to use a credit card to use the pay phones on site with no luck. At 11:30am, a gracious taxi driver used his personal cell phone to call both a cell and office number listed on our confirmation. The cell was a wrong number, but the office number (the Isla Pasion office in Cozumel) apologized and said that they would send someone over to meet us. Rem from Isla Pasion showed up immediately, and got us into a taxi by 11:45am. A taxi to Isla Pasion normally costs $25 each way, but was included in our tour. (Rem informed us that the person who was assigned to pick us up for the excursion had not shown up to work, and had not informed the tour company that he was not picking us up. Had it not been for the kind taxi driver who helped us, we would have been forgotten about completely.)

In order to get to Isla Pasion, you must take a small "ferry" (i.e. small fishing boat) to the Island (also included in the excursion price). The taxi ride to the ferry took nearly 45 minutes, but the ferry only took 5 minutes. Before we got on the ferry we were asked to pay for the excursion (normally $65 per person, but this was reduced to $50 per person due to the long wait), and this transaction took another 5 minutes.

By the time we reached the island it was nearly 1 p.m. We were greeted on the Island by Aida, who showed us around and got us familiar with all of the facilities on the Island. The buffet included Mahi Mahi, BBQ chicken, rice, guacamole, pico de gallo, chips and some other veggies. The green salsa was VERY hot. There were a few mixed drinks to choose from (Margarita, Rum Punch, Sex On the Beach, etc.) but all were on the weak side. Also Dos Equis beer and water. Drinks closer to the ocean are from a cash bar, which had more variety (daiquiris, pina colada, long island iced tea, etc.) and prices were $4 and up (also somewhat weak). Rem offered us 2 free drinks from the cash bar as additional compensation for our late pick-up.

The water was warm and the beach was beautiful and pristine. The water is clear and shallow (5 feet deep max in the swimming area). There was no shortage of beach chairs, kayaks were available for free rental, and beach activities (water balloon toss, volleyball, etc.) were organized by Isla Pasion staff.

Unfortunately, due to our late pick-up we were only able to spend about 2 hours on the Island, which was not nearly enough. That was the main disappointment with the excursion. Although $30 was reduced from the tour price, and 2 free drinks were provided ($8 dollar value), swimming and relaxing on the beach seemed like a minor blip in the day between the boat rides, taxi rides, and standing around waiting at Carlos 'n Charlies. I would still recommend this excursion only on the strength that Isla Pasion be committed enough to not let our experience be repeated.

We traveled on the Enchantment of the Seas last
week. One of our stops was Cozumel and we
decided on Passion Island.

The beach is so beautiful. The buffet lunch and
drinks were great.

Leo and Alex , our guides, thanks so much. I have MS
and walk with a cane. Leo spotted me on the line and
from there on could not do enough for me. It was
wonderful.

This was one of our best stops on our cruise. We were there on June 22, 2009 with Carnival Legend. Everybody there was great! Getting there was a real treat with "Twister". Ricky and Jorge did a fantastic job with the boats to and from.

We booked this trip through Thisiscozumel.com and were so happy that we did. It was definitely the highlight of our trip. We took a short boat trip to the island where we were met by Ida who was wonderful!! She checked in with us often to see if there was anything we needed. The beach was breathtaking and the water was crystal clear. There was some open air shopping, open or cash bar, mexican buffet as well as other activities you could chose to partake in. I had a massage with Elias and that was the icing on the cake. He was fantasitc!! We will definitely be doing this next trip to Cozumel.
