“Great Golf Challenge”
Reviewed February 23, 2014 via mobile

This is such a fun course. Certainly bring your "A" game. The staff are very friendly and the beer is always cold. My wife and I have played there the last few times we have gone to the island and we have loved it every time . Keep up the work! The only thing I would love to see is a bit of work on the back tees. The fall has been so much wetter than usual so certainly not easy to keep in top shape. Cannot wait to go back in March and April!

“Challenge for your golf game”
Reviewed February 16, 2014

We take a golf group here every winter and this course will test your game... especially #16,#17 and #18. These finishing holes are fun but can eat you up! We enjoy the staff and the food at the restaurant is also reasonable and good and they have a very nice pro shop. A bonus are the iguanas and crocodiles on the course who can be very entertaining!

“Great golf!”
Reviewed February 2, 2014

We had a blast golfing with the crocs! I emailed a few weeks before our trip and Ivan answered all of my questions and booked our tee times for two different weeks since we couldn't nail down our exact dates! Everyone was so pleasant and helpful. Golf will be included in our trips to Cozumel for sure :)

“dirty flag placement”
Reviewed February 1, 2014

The golf course is in fairly good condition, but they had more rain than usual, and the course suffered because of that, the 16 holes ,a par 5 is close you play it as a par 3,i would have like
to try to play that hole ,it look really tough, but funny thing they do not try to repair it,i think
the golfers must have hit some balls in the street on that hole, that's why they are not in a rush to re-open it.
The people who places the pin in the morning are not golfers because some pin were not playable at all, they were in a hill with greens rolling at 11,flat course no mountain.
the staff at the golf course is nice and very polite.
Some wild life on the course ,crocs, iguanas, birds, pigs.
For the golf print a yardage book it is a tricky golf course that you must know before you play it well.the really bad thing about this golf course, the yardage markers are stupid ,being only on the cart path, and very small, you are always looking for your distance, bring a gps or a laser.
this is a golf course that is slow to play.

Good morning. Thank you for your comments. Yes, we had over 108 inches of rain in the last 7 months of 2013 and hole 16 was the most affected. I assure you we are working on returning the hole back to normal playing conditions, but unfortunately, this is a process that will take time, We just recently were able to clear all of the water from the primary landing area, clean it up and fertilize it and we were able to open the hole for play as a par 5 this past Saturday. The condition of the fairway is not perfect but is very playable and now our golfing guests will have a chance to experience the challenge of this tough par 5.

Our golf course maintenance crew does their best to place the holes in fair positions while using spots with minimum traffic and they do sometimes cut it a little close in trying to find the best spot each day for the hole positions. We will review the placement with them to be sure we are being fair to our golfers.

The golf course is marked for yardage on the sprinkler heads, as well as on the cart path. The cart path markers are at 100, 150 and 200 yards and serve as a point of reference when course conditions require us to be apply the cart path only rule, which we have had to apply frequently because of the rain.

The golf course is challenging, especially your first round, and the pace of play many times is a factor of how many golfers are on the golf course. Our peak times are between 730 and 1030, and the typical round will be 4 hours 15 minutes to 4 hours 30 minutes. Our afternoons are not as busy, and a foursome should be able to get around in 4 hours with no problem.

Thanks for your comment about our staff. We feel that they do an excellent job. Thank you also for your comments in general. We appreciate feedback form our guests, it allows us to improve on areas where we may be lacking.

We hope to see you back soon.

Best regards.

“Back for another go at the "Monster"”
Reviewed January 24, 2014

The only golf course on the island is very challenging. Hole #16 is a 550 yd. par 5 requiring 2 separate shots over mangroves that love to eat golf balls. In fact throwing 1 in before your shot does not appease the monster. Sadly, due to heavy rains this fall/winter, the "Monster" has been modified to a par 3 without the mangroves until it dries out a little. Not to fear, #18 had a fine patch of mangroves to shoot over so extra balls are a plus.
