“Punta Sur,”
Reviewed October 13, 2013

Nice beach. We had a great swim out to, along the reef and back, it took about an hour. We had the reef to ourselves, very nice. Plenty of fish. The road to the beach is in poor condition, just take it slow. The view from the lighthouse is amazing, and it's only 133 steps to the top. We had an opportunity to release freshly hatched sea turtles, an amazing experience. The Park employee was very informative, and even took a number of pictures of us during the release. Nice place to spend a afternoon.

“Beautiful beaches but the reef has died.”
Reviewed September 26, 2013

we were here in 2010 and made sure to return on this trip to Cozumel. The drive down the rough, dirt road to & past the lighthouse is just as beautiful but we were confused when we got to the end of the road. There were only 3 or 4 vehicles there & we wondered where the crowd as well as lifeguards in kayaks were. We took off toward the reef all alone to find a boneyard. It was so disappointing and sad. In 3 years time the beautiful reef was gone.

“pretty good”
Reviewed September 18, 2013

Punta Sur offers the following:

-a fairly boring lighthouse on a nice beach with very aggressive vendors nearby.
-an *incredibly* beautiful beach with facilities and a restaurant/bar
-an alligator preserve, which is pretty darn cool

Unfortunately, it also features a ?16km incredibly bumpy ride. Got really nauseated and almost barfed driving mile after mile over potholes. They should really do something about this.

If you're not prone to queasy (didn't think I was) and have been to Cozumel before, this would be a good stop on your drive.

“Beautiful!”
Reviewed September 13, 2013

We came here on an ATV tour from our cruise. Its a scenic beach/area! Great snorkeling! The lunch that was provided was excellent! Great area for just relaxing on the beach in the sun or shade. Clean restrooms and showers.

“Beautiful "movie scene beach" all to ourselves”
Reviewed August 19, 2013

Beautiful white sand beach. We saw two huge barracuda and three huge angel fish. An effort to snorkel against the current, but the park is amazing. View from lighthouse is worth the stair climb.
