“Worthwhile, but second best”
Reviewed February 23, 2013

I agree with the previous reviewers, except we did see a fair amount of fish, grouper, snapper, and a sea turtle. Plus you get to go 100 feet below the surface. This is a "what the hay" experience. However, we had a better submarine journey in Aruba. There you see a shipwreck guarded by large baracudas (you will not see any smart divers there!), better coral and better fish. We will go on other submarine journeys in the future and compare them, but if this is your only chance to go down below, do it in Cozumel anyway. The guide in Cozumel is quirky, if you can wade through his thick accent. In demonstrating the life vest, "first you pull the tabs. If that doesn't work, you blow in the tubes. If that doesn't work....it's just not your lucky day."

“Disappointing if you want to see colourful colours and fish. More like a 'been there, done that experience'.”
Reviewed February 22, 2013 via mobile

We did the submarine tour while being at a cruise in Cozumel. It's this kind of experience that you are happy you've been once in a submarine but it's not a once in a lifetime experience. To us it was disapointing and not much fish or coloured coral to see. Crew is great. You get a dive certificate and some rum punch. But as said not so much to see.
At Cozumel, rent a scooter and drive around to points like Faro Celerain (Punta Sur). That made our day!

Thanks for your comments, we always are looking to improve the Experience, as you mentioned there´s some many things to do in Cozumel it is hard to choose from. Definitely going in the sub is one of the choices and could give you a good peak of Cozumel best´s, the Ocean . Regarding the uncolored scenes you mentioned, we explain all of our guests water act as a filter an there´s a lack of colors as deep as you go. Submarine do not use lights during the tour that could help colors to came up as a protection for the Reef and Sea life.

“What a disappointment!!!!”
Reviewed February 22, 2013

We were really looking forward to this shore excursion on our cruise but were completely disappointed. Everything looked bluish grey - we only saw a bit of yellow on one small fish. The portholes are below eye level so you are constantly leaning over to see out - not at all comfortable for your back. Overall, a big waste of money!

Dear Ruth,
I would like to thanks you for sharing your thoughts about our Experience, as we explain during the Submarine ride the Experience is not just going 100ft underwater but experience how the ambience change during the Adventure, As we explain during the narration there´s a reason why everything looks bluish and is the effect of the water blocking the light as you go deeper, the deeper you go the darker it gets. Hope this helps to understand.
On behalf of Atlantis Submarine Team we would like to thanks you being with us during your vacations.

Great way to see the reef without getting wet! A bit crowded and tight in the sub. Make reservations ahead of time

“Amazing experience!”
Reviewed February 17, 2013

What a great experience. Staff is great, very comfortable and I would say even for someone that doesn't like being in closed quarters...they make you feel very comfortable. Hilarious staff and great photos to be had at 104 feet below sea level!
