Great price for being close to town across the street from the ocean , with an underground walk ( well lit and clean ) to their own private water front . They have a dive shop there where you can book boat dive trips or just shore dive . It is not a place to just swim , for that they have a huge pool with one section that is 25 meters long and about three lanes wide . I swim everyday and perfect for that . You can get just the room or different meal plans , the buffet food is good but not for us . The rooms are large and very clean there are water coolers about every six rooms so plenty of free bottled water . Air conditioning is great . Many things to do in court yard .

Room Tip: Looks like most rooms are good rooms . You can have court yard view or outside rooms . We would be h...

My husband and I had a great time at Hotel Cozumel. We didn't have all inclusive but breakfast was included in the price. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Love the pool. Although it's not right on the beach but there is tunnel from the hotel that goes to the beach and it's private for the guests of Hotel Cozumel. It a taxi ride from the downtown and it costs $7 (US). The service at the breakfast time wasn't that great. We only received great service once of a 3 day stay.
The entire island is worth seeing if you have a chance rent a car and go around the island. Make sure when you rent a car it's all wheel drive b/c the place we rented the car told us it was but we found out the hard way that it was when the car got stuck on the gravel. Thanks to some tourists they we able to help us get out.
If you want little of secluded beach then drive to Playa Bonita it's about 15-20 miles from downtown. We also took a ride in Atlantis Submarine and it went down 100 ft... it was a lots of fun.

Room Tip: I would go for facing the pool.

Overall, not a bad way to spend a few days in the sun. Clean rooms and common areas are plentiful at Hotel Cozumel and Resort. Only 10 minutes by car to the airport, you can relax by the pool or the Caribbean Sea. Plenty of frozen cocktails and other drinks are free flowing for those with a wrist band, although there is only one draught beer, which is Sol. Meals are OK, nothing too spectacular, but there is plenty of food served buffet style. If you want guacamole, you'll have to ask since it is usually in a fridge behind the counter.

Room Tip: Ocean view rooms are next to the main road, which can be noisy in the morning. The wind can rattle t...

We stayed at Hotel Cozumel and Resort the week of January 5th. We had actually booked the trip though Groupon, and we had never been to Mexico, so we weren't quite sure what to expect.

The rooms were ok, but the bed was very, very hard. It was really uncomfortable to sleep in after the first few nights. Everything else was good though! The maids work very hard to clean the rooms, including mopping the floors every single day. If you leave them a tip (which you should, because they are very kind and work very hard!), they will fold your towels into different shapes and animals.

The service at the hotel was impeccable! The people who worked at the activities desk were so kind to us! They host numerous activities during the day, and then put on a show at night. If you REALLY want to have a good time and see the nightlife of Cozumel, go out with them after the show. At least once or twice a week, they'll take hotel guests out to a bar. We had a blast! Jorje took my dad out a few nights, and he ended up having the best time!

There really isn't a "beach" area. Most of the island just has a rocky coast, but the hotel did have a sand area that overlooks the ocean. It's great for snorkeling and scuba diving, and it's ok if you are just looking to lay out in the sand, but it's not good for swimming in the ocean.

My only complaint about the hotel is the food. We had the all-inclusive, which was GREAT for drinks. They will make you any drink, and they make them GOOD. Once again, if you tip the bartender or server, they will keep them coming your way! However, the food was very disappointing. The food is buffet style, and it's the same thing over and over again. The breakfast is the best, because there is a big variety. But I wouldn't recommend doing the all-inclusive. Downtown Cozumel is about a 10 minute walk, or $6 cab ride, and there are a plethora of restaurants there (including a few American ones... Margaritaville and Hard Rock Cafe).

Overall, this was a great deal, and we would go back. The people went out of their way to make our experience phenomenal. Thank you!

This is a seccond time that I stay in this hotel, everytime I stay in this hotel I have great moments with my family! For the first time I booked this hotel because it has a big pool. All the reviews I found on internet were good. Only think I don't like about the hotel is the website of the hotel. It was a little noisy at night at the pool. The room had satelit TV, bathub and hair dryer. Also I like that the rooms have private balcony. Finding the hotel was very cheep and easy. They have service that takes you from the airport to the hotel just for 9$ per person. I had a great and exciting snorkeling time with my family. I met a lot of new friends in the hotel, with some of them we are still in contact. One of the beds was uncomfortable but the staff replaced it with other.

Yes main reason why we booked with this property was because they had a manmade pool it had amazing variety of fish to entertain yourself without the need to scuba dive;) we like to snorkle and we felt like this was a nice spot though there is no sandy beach here this works for those who like to sit at the pool all day;). If you stay in the resort you can get the all inclusive option which will give u a variety of food to choose from. Food for all types of taste. They have a sit down bar by the lobby close to the breakfast dinner place and its nice to have a drink or a few made by Jose Tellez he is a very nice guy... He didnt mind making our drinks to request and knew how to make them. At one point the person who managed the waiters was at the bar covering up for José on lunch and the guy had no clue on how to make a Michelada! We sure were surprised to find out the inexperienced guy was the boss.... Oh well. We had an oceanview room we loved the Sunsets there they were beautiful. We would go back since we did enjoy our stay here.... great for all ages

We had another great stay at the Hotel Cozumel over Christmas. If you're reading these reviews to decide whether or not to stay here - just book it! You will not be disappointed.
Dive service is excellent. Hotel is clean. From front desk staff to cleaning & wait staff - all very friendly, hard working people. Location is perfect to the downtown area. We walked into town every night for dinner. A nice easy one mile walk. Very safe, very easy.
Our morning waiter, Cornelio is definitely an asset to the hotel, as he is an exemplary example of what good service should be.
We don't do All inc. as we prefer to dine at the many, many wonderful places around Cozumel. We've done AI on previous stays, and always found something to eat. If you're a foodie, you'll be disappointed. If you're a foodie, head to town and try the many places around the island. If you don't want to leave the hotel, do the A.I. and I'm sure you'll always find something to eat.
Pool area is big and plenty of shade & chairs. Since the average age group isn't 20 year olds, I'd suggest turning the blasting music down, since everyone consistantly complains about this issue. Beach area is nice, but be aware..it is not a walk-in beach. There are steps into the water, but it's very deep (3 1/2 feet) on your first step in. So if you have little ones, know that there is no sand, gradual beach. Also, management, please note: BUY NEW CHAIRS! It was so annoying to grab a lounge chair, only to find the backs were broke on 90% of the chairs. An easy investment of new beach chairs would make everyone happy and much more comfortable.
Overall, Hotel Cozumel is a very good choice. I continue to recommend this hotel to others as it's a fair price to pay to be in paradise! :)
