“Very nice stay”
Reviewed December 29, 2011

We stayed at the Hotel last week for six days. We had just breakfast which was fine, a decent variety every morning. We had the two bedroom suite room 1200 which was very nice for my wife and i and two older daughters. Had a huge private balcony for sunning and a kitchenett dining area. Only problem was from the master bedroom you could hear a bit of the AC from the roof next door. The first night their was an even louder generator noise but after talking to the manager they had it turned off. We were in a section of the hotel seperate from all other rooms so had no oise from otheres. The pool area is nice nothing special with activities going on all day. Kids could be entertained all day. Staff was helpful when needed and pleasent to deal with. Hotel is getting to be a bit dated but is clean. Can walk to town in about fifteen minutes or a short cab ride. I see no reason to go on the full meal plan as we had excellent food all over Cozumel. Overall it is a nice place at a decent price

Stayed in this hotel over Christmas for a dive vacation. Firstly we were given a twin room when we requested a king, we we moved but to a room with an adjoining door. Beware these room have no baffles, you can hear everything in your neighbors room! After complaining we were moved again to a king room that is more quiet, however sadly people coming home from the bars at 3 am are less than quiet. The hotel does nothing to quieten noisy guests down meaning the rest of us get little sleep. The hotel offers a pool towel service but it is almost impossible to get a change of towel as they constantly run out. The breakfast food is grim. The front desk staff are poorly trained to deal with customer issues and complaints. Whilst the location is good I will not stay here again. Not a 3 star hotel, at best a 2 star. Only redeeming factor is the pool.

We have stayed a several all inclusive hotels in Cozumel and decided to try Hotel Cozumel because of the onsite diveshop Dive Paradise. We dove with them for the past two years and thought it would be convenient. We arrived and were promptly given a warm welcome along with a tasty welcome drink. Desk staff was efficient and friendly. We paid for a superior room but when we arrived at our room it was on the first floor facing the street and it smelled very musty. We asked for a room on the third floor and said the only thing available was an oceanfront, so we opted to pay an additional $20/day to upgrade. The room was nice and had a great view. The food for breakfast was good, lunch was adequate but dinner left a lot to be desired. This is the first time staying at an all inclusive that we felt the need to leave the resort for dinner (went out for dinner 3 times). Postives: close proximity to town, staff was wonderful (especially Xavier), convenience of a great onsite dive operation, and the pool area is beautiful. Food was adequate. Overall it is a decent value for the money. We enjoyed our dinner with some new friends at Prima after watching a beautiful sunset.

Spent 7 wonderful days on a dive trip to Cozumel and stayed at Hotel Cozumel. Its an all inclusive hotel- great food, across the street from the dock where the dive boats pick you up. there are lockers to store your dive gear in right at the dock, everything made easy for a great dive experience!

Room Tip: ask for rooms away from the road. Even though there was little traffic and noise- the rooms in the b...

This was our second trip to Cozumel and I was very appreciative that they had lots of things for kids to do during the day, since we hadn't planned on wandering too far from the resort during our stay. The pool area was very impressive and when we did spend time at the beachfront, there was only one occasion when we weren't able to borrow snorkelling equipment since all of it was spoken for by the time we arrived. This was included in the cost of our holiday and next time I won't bother dragging it from home. The food was decent, as were the drinks, all of which was served with a smile. My only complaint was that it was a hassle sometimes to exchange currency and the front desk never seemed to have enough small bills.

Second time here and the place has'nt changed at all. Overall pretty average with the exception of the pool area which is very nice and clean. Room (like last time) had a musty smell with a few ants present every day. Bed very hard and pillows suck. Staff very friendly and the room was cleaned and bedding changed every day. We did not do the all inclusive because we like the short walk downtown to the wonderful restaurants. The breakfast was included in our package and was actually pretty good, however on the day we arrived we decided to have dinner at their restaurant and would have to say the food was horrible. They have made great improvements to the beach area across the street. It is now very easy to walk down a ramp and get in the water. Pretty decent snorkeling there. The dive shop for the hotel is Dive Pardise and they are fansastic. For the price this hotel is OK but next time will probably stay at a resort further south as this place is a long way by boat to the dive reefs. Also would not come again in December. The "norties" cold fronts come through quite often which brings the winds out of the North and causes the harbor to be shut down and the dive boats cannot go out. Both time we have made trips here in December the harbor has been shut down half the time.

We made a big mistake not staying at this hotel, we think. We have had our wedding there and it was unforgettable. Everything was perfect.
We also ate at their all inclusive restaurant several times. If you do not stay at the hotel you can buy the pass for a reasonable price and pick everything you like for free. The place boasts a good assortment of food and some natural fruit juices. They can make cheese omelets for you just in front of your eyes and it takes them just a few minutes to prepare it. You can choose some mashed potatoes with gravies and sauces, pastas, delicious salads and much more. The food tastes like home made and it is very pleasant.
The place stays lively as the people from the hotel as well as other tourists come to eat there.
Apart from excellent food the restaurant has a very nice location – just in the palm trees near the small beach. So you can descend a flight of stairs and find yourself on a peaceful and beautiful sand beach near the seaside.
