We just returned from our Cozumel vacation were we spent a absolut fantastic 1 week. The view from the hotel rooms are absolutely beautiful. You wake up every morning looking out to the beautiful blue waters of Cozumel. The pool areas are very clean and nice. The stuff is very friendly and helpful. The food is average, but you can always find something to eat "or" make reservation (for dinner) in the morning for the inside restaturant(but men make sure you have long pants and something nice for the ladies to ware otherwise they won't let you in:))).Good cocktails and drinks. You can snorkel right in front of the hotel (is also very convenient for families with smaller kids)or take the boat and go diving. This was our 2nd time at El Coz and will be back:))))Hola Fernando,Cozme and everybody:)))

Room Tip: Almost every room is ocean view here, except the ground floor.Ocean view is worth every penny.

All inclusive resorts can be hit or miss and this one was definitely a hit. The food, service/staff, rooms and drinks were all great! I am hoping to make an annual trip out of this! Don't be afraid because there is only one in door restaurant. The specials change every day and the whole menu changes every 2 days. The outdoor restaurant was also very good, make sure you get up for Breakfast! Fresh fruit, omelettes, bacon, potatoes, definitely worth getting up for!

Room Tip: Definitely go for a room on the higher floors to make sure you get a great view of the ocean!

The hotel was very clean inside and out. The staff was extremely friendly and helpfull. The view was outstanding and the pools were fantastic. They also have private pier, boats can pick you up for excersions. The food was good, but the menu lacked choices. They just reopened the gift shop and the prices were very fair, it is also stocked with good vacation items.

I stayed at the El Cozumeleno with my boyfriend for 4 nights - it was our first time in Cozumel and our first time in Mexico. We stayed on the 8th floor in an ocean view room, which was spectacular. The view was incredible and the rooms were big and very clean! The beds were surprisingly comfortable.
Unfortunately, the majority of the pool (the part with the swim up bar) was under construction during our entire stay. This was a disappointment, it was definitely something we had been looking forward to. The drinks were kind of weak, but we asked for doubles and they were happy to make them stronger. The beach was gorgeous and the resort offered free snorkeling and sea kayaking, which was great! The best thing about the resort was the service: there were people everywhere, waiting to greet us and answer our every need. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. They actually raked the seaweed off the beaches in the morning to make it cleaner ... I've never seen anyone work as hard as they did.
The biggest downside to the resort was the food. The room service and the food at the casual restaurant was very disappointing. We ate at the casual restaurant most of the time, because we were unaware that dress codes would be required for the "nice" restaurant (note for males: bring pants and closed toed shoes!!). Fortunately, we found out you could schedule reservations after 930PM and eat at the "nice" restaurant without adhering to the dress code. The food in that restaurant was a night and day difference - it was phenomenal. I couldn't believe it came from the same resort. Make sure you make reservations every night if you are staying here!!!!
We went into town one day ($7/one way) to get a decent meal. The resort offered a 20% discount at a particular restaurant and the food there was delicious. Other than that, town was nothing too special.
I definitely recommend staying here for a relaxing beach vacation.

Room Tip: Get an oceanview, 8th and 9th floors are best!

We stayed at the El Cozumeleno from Sept. 29 through Oct. 6. It was their slow time in Cozumel and at this resort. The food was good. They did not have the buffet up and running because of the low number of guests. Every night in the outside restuarant we had a different menu. Never had anything bad. We went to the indoor restuarant twice and both meals were very good. Breakfast and Lunch had the same menu. You need to try the french toast for breakfast, very good. If it is not on the menu, just ask and they may be able to make it anyway. On of the people we went with just really wanted some french fries one night and they made them for him.

If you like Lobster, you need to take a 5 minute walk south to the Lobster House. Make sure you go to the Lobster House and not the Lobster Grill. They are right by each other. The Lobster House only has lobster, but it is caught fresh each day. The people there are very nice also.

The rooms and the place was kept very clean. We had a nice size room that worked great for us. I did not have any problems with the beds, but I do not like a really soft bed. I do have to say that the pillows could be a little softer, but still did not have any problem sleeping.

The people there are very friendly. We loved all of the waiters, bartenders and entertainment staff. The water aerobics is more of a workout than you would think, but it was fun.

Since it was low season, we did not have any problems with pool/beach chairs or towels. If our towels got too wet, we exchanged them for dry ones.

If the drinks were a little weak, we would just order a double shot. The bartenders always remembered what we were drinking. They even remembered from one day to the next.

Would I go back to this resort, definitely.

My husband, Son, Daughter- in-law, and myself stayed there in June 2012. The staff was amazing. They were all so helpful and nice. It was very kid friendly (even though we didn't have kids). The only thing I would like to see changed is: I would like the bar to stay open longer and have late night entertainment.

Room Tip: Ocean view is the only way to go....We stayed in the south tower and our room was large and comforta...
