“Comfory food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 2, 2014

Off the beaten path for most tourist, but a can't miss. Tacos Al Pastor is awesome, also tongue tacos, sliced not diced rocks. Nice mix of locals and tourists For truly local cuisine you cant go wrong here. Be sure to look for pet chicken across street. Family has raised the chicken to be a pet. Daughter carries it around like an infant

great place full of locals and tourists but can always get a seat. Limited menu tacos, sandwiches and soups - great pozole!

“Best pastor I've had”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 31, 2014

Had Pastor and gringas. Save $ and just get the pastor as it is the same as the gringas except gringas have cheese. These are greasy goodness and in my opinion the cheese doesn't do anything for it. Delicious!

“Simple, Authentic, Perfect.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 21, 2014 via mobile

Los Otates serves up fresh food at a reasonable price. Nothing about the place is fancy. But the food is incredible. I like the arracheras tacos with a big bowl of Pozole, which is like a Mexican pork stew that you add cold ingredients to (cabbage, carrots, etc).

Cash only. A great place to relax with some friends and a beer and enjoy some local food off the main cruise ship drag.

“Great little taqueria”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 20, 2014

We have been coming to Los Otates for years now. It's one of our favorite local taquerias. Pork is slowly cooked right in front of you, and it's one of the best tasting ones. A bit on the greasy side, but that's what makes it taste good. :) If you are looking for an ambient and a fancy looking restaurant, this is not it, but if you are looking to experience authentic local food, this is it. It is located on 15th Ave, north of 3 Calle. We all enjoy Gringas (made to suit American taste, but we do like it!). It's tacos El pastor (pork) with pineapple. They take their time, since they are preparing everything on the spot. Try their Horchata, and Jamaica. They have WiFi and TV typically showing soccer (or football as it's called everywhere else). Over the years, the waters have improved their English, but communication has never been a problem. The price is really reasonable.
