I followed up on this tip and believe these folks sell authentic Cuban cigars. Excellent variety and great humidor. As a cigar fan for many years, I may be mistaken and since it has been a couple of years since I bought some in Amsterdam, the smell, construction and taste of the Monte Cristo, Bolivar and Cohiba sure seemed like the real thing. I examined the stamped boxes and it was consistent from earlier ones I have purchased in the past.
As there are an incredible amount of fraudulent ones, I believe I also purchased an authentic Cuban Bolivar in the tobacco store on the ground floor of the Mega Store.
After purchasing these cigars, I went into one of the small shops that sell souvenir type stuff, the guy attempted to sell me a sample of 5 "Cuban" cigars...there was no humidor and his initial asking price was $100, I told him that I had just purchased some and was not interested in more but he was persistent that I examine them...he opened the small box without hesitation, I obliged him and they were clearly not authentic...by the time I walked out of the store he asked for $5 for the box of 5.
