I think the first time we ever experienced Prima, they had just opened and were handing out bread samples (of which they were justifiably proud) on the street. We used to go to the restaurant often when it was just off the square and always enjoyed the experience, the service, and, generally, the food. We finally stopped in again on our last trip for a holiday/birthday dinner. Really good: the drinks, the bread, the garlic pasta that accompanied my meal. The service is still really good, right down the young woman tending the elevator entrance. My very simple fish dish was prepared well.
Things got a little more difficult with my husband's meal, a seafood-stuffed fish special. It came to the table raw in the middle; he sent it back, and the new one was also seriously underdone in the middle. He kept it, not wanting to send it back again (I gave the raw bits back to the fish the next day). They brought us a comp tiramisu in honor of the birthday, which was both kind of them and tasty.
We ended up having a really nice time, thus my offering four stars, in spite of that one not-so-great entree. I think my takeaway from the experience is that we'll likely return, but we'll order carefully, and probably keep it simple.
