Our group had lunch here yesterday and we were all very very impressed. Our server, Viktor, was great. His customer service was phenomenal and he made some strong and yummy drinks! Every meal that we ordered was amazing…. I got the lion fish filet and it was perfect. All of our food was mouth watering delicious. We were beyond satisfied with the service and food at Perlitas!

Another great restaurant specializing in seafood. It was a repeat visit for us during our 2 week visit to Cozumel. Grilled Lobster and lionfish dishes were our choices for both evenings. Cerviche and empanadas were choices for appetizers. All well prepared and delightfully flavourful. Margaritas were killers. Never had room for dessert. Would definitely visit during our next vacation.

As with everyone else, we'd heard this was the local place to go for fresh seafood. Although the location is certainly off the beaten track, our early evening visit found no locals in the restaurant - only expats/tourists. To me, the menu/prices don't really suggest it's actually very local (i.e. glossy pictures/logos, 125 peso starters) compared to the other local restaurants we've visited on the island, although I'm sure they get a discount. Beware that if you're checking against their website, the prices are now at least 25% higher than shown there!

Anyway - the food was good and fresh, the lionfish a la plancha was very tasty and the pico de gallo with the tortilla chips had a real kick, so a plus there. What let down the meal in a major way for us though was the service we experienced. We had called ahead to check the restaurant opening hours (open until 9pm) and arrived at 7.45pm. However, from start to finish we were rushed through our meal as fast as humanly possible by our waiter. We were prompted to order 3 times with 45 second intervals (bit rude), our starter arrived immediately (fine), our main course arrived before we were halfway through our starter (not ideal), and the waiter then started to grab individual plates off the table the moment we moved our hand away from each, in some cases we had to insist we weren't finished yet! As we had then guessed may be the case, the moment he had succeeded in whipping away our plates it was "Bill? Taxi?" . It was truly unbelievable, and what was meant to be a nice 'treat' meal was turned into a 20 minute sprint.

This was a real shame, as otherwise the food was good. I've not seen this mentioned in other reviews, so hopefully this was a one-off and I'm sure it's not the case at lunch or maybe earlier in the evening. However, we had arrived well before closing hours and so didn't expect it.

This restaurant was recommended to our group by a local dive master for having fresh seafood and we weren't disappointed. We had a group of ten and I don't think anyone had a bad meal. I had lobster (large and reasonably priced) while other members of the group, in addition to lobster, had fish prepared different ways (including lion fish), shrimp, and octopus. Very casual, definitely not fancy, but good food and good value.

We asked locals where to get "WHOLE FISH" and this was always the recommendation. Since it was our first time on the island we weren't sure of the location. We hired a taxi to bring us. As we traveled thru several areas we were concerned as it wasn't "downtown" but we were adventurous . So glad we did. We were shown a freshly caught red snapper that we picked. A little while later we were served one of the best whole fish dinners we've had in Mexico. The freshest ingredients were obvious. Awesome guacamole. We were taught about the "lion fish" and we are determined to go back and try that before we leave. Other customers were dining on that and raving about it. The restaurant is far from fine dining but that's not what we were looking for but the service was very good. Felt like we were just part of the family. The margaritas were very good as well. Overall, a wonderful Cozumel experience.
