I had the breaded and fried fish and my wife had the "fish fingers." We both liked the fried fish much more than the fish fingers although it wasn't as good as what we had at El Moro. Compared to other restaurants we dined at during our trip, La Perlita was a little pricier for what you get.

Addresses on Cozumel can be tricky so here are the GPS coordinates: N20 30.340 W86 56.103

We both had fried fish, but mine were labeled as "fingers" and fried with a doughy kinda tasteless batter while the regular fried fish was fried with the cornmeal-based batter. That one was really flavorful. Perhaps there was garlic? Yum. The place is cute, but doesn't stand out in the crowd of good restaurants in Cozumel.

the chef did an exquisite job grilling and frying the mahi mahi I caught earlier that day. The fish was delicious and shared by everyone in our group. The rice, beans, tortillas and salsas that came with the meal were fresh made. The cost was so reasonable, we plan on making La Perlita a must visit when we go back to Cozumel.

La Perlita served the best fish we have had in Cozumel. It is not a pretty restaurant so be forewarned as you might easily walk by it and not give it another thought. Those who like it, like it so much they want to keep it their secret, but that hardly seems fair to the great people who earn their living working there and those who want to enjoy everything from lobster to red snapper to shrimp. Margaritas are strong and made with loads of real lime; beer menu is limited but hey, I wanted Mexican beer and that was fine. Coffee was not available but so what? Dessert was creme caramel custard and quite nice. Total cost for 4 with tip was 1050 pesos. I would easily return.

Came here for Xmas eve dinner and the place was packed w locals. Tons of great fish dishes, though the place is off the beaten track. We had the small plate of lion fish ceviche and it was huge!
