My trips to Cozumel always include one or two evenings at El Moro. You will be greeted by Ray's big smile like you're his long lost brother. Not the most beautiful setting nor is it right in town but well worth the $3 cab ride each way. The reasonable prices make up for this.

My husband and I have been coming to Cozumel for 9 years and we just found this gem in the heart of Cozumel. Great food, lovely service and charming decor. Our trip started with taxi ride that seemed to be taking us back to the airport and ended up on a tiny street filled with children. But it was well worth the drive. We were greeted warmly and shown to a table. Chips and salsa (delightfully spicy) appeared with our waiter. When asked for his favorite item on the menu he recommended the Beef Fillet Cuban - OMG! It was amazing! My husband ordered the chicken enchiladas and kept stealing from my plate! When we were done with our meal the waiter brought out a honey liquor that was a great ending. He also made sure we had a taxi back to our hotel. We highly recommend this restaurant if you want authentic Mexican food. We will be back - most likely before we go home this trip.

We have been coming to Coz for 30 years and not sure how we've missed this place. We stayed in a different area of the island and I am so glad we did as we found this Gem of a restaurant recommended by the manager of our condo. The locals hang out here as well so you know it's good. Most of the repeat tourist business arrives and are usually greeted by Ray with hugs and kisses on the cheek. It is so family oriented. This was one of our most memorable meals ever. The food was unbelievable; steak, the garlic soup, grouper, conch, & shrimp. Large portions. We all ate off each others plates and there was nothing left. We went back the next day and Ray greeted us by name. It is truly a place to experience and you won't be disappointed. Very nice and clean restaurant and restrooms. It is in a lesser known area of town and is difficult to find. Recommend hiring a taxi then they can call another for your return. The kids ate everything on their plate. The food is truly prepared from the heart. Can't say enough about our great experience here. Thank you Ray.

We had a car, studied the directions based on reading some of the TA reviews, and had no problem finding El Moro. We also didn't have any trouble parking. We arrived about 6:30 which seemed to be ahead of the rush. There were about 10 people in the restaurant when we arrived and 50+ when we left. The service and food were excellent. We are simple eaters so I can't really speak to the seafood or wine.
