We were on a day excursion from a cruise and decided to grab a true Mexican lunch and margarita (its was international margarita day after all). We were flagged in by the host and told it was the best place around.
We weren't going to be picky, so we sat down and ordered two margaritas and two bottled waters. My girlfriend got the quesadilla and I had tacos. It took over 5 minutes to get our water and a few minutes afterward to get our drinks. The margaritas were good. They were freshly made and did not seem to come from a pre-mix. We were given fresh Mexican salsa (NOT what is served in the US as salsa) and fresh tortilla chips. They were great!
We quickly finished our drinks and ordered two more. This took another 5 minutes and was quickly followed by our food. Our food was great! It was fresh, light, and seasoned in a subtle way that was well balanced. The total for our meal came to $20 before the tip. I felt this was a more than fair price considering the quality of the food. We left a few dollars tip, but I felt the service really did not warrant much of one. The service was the worst part of the meal. Another bonus was the various street performers that traversed the alley and park in front of us.
If we were going back to Cozumel, we would try elsewhere, but it was worth the price paid.
