We should have eaten here sooner. We all had great items, but the grilled grouper was fantastic. Fun, authentic little restaurant right on the water and next to our hotel. We'll definitely be back and most likely stop in the first day. Not to be missed.

My husband had been talking about this place since we started dating, so when we finally made it to Cozumel it was our first stop.
We were only on the island for the day - we had taken a collectivo done to Playa del Carmen from Cancun, and then a ferry over to Cozumel. From the dock we grabbed a taxi to Ernesto's (my husband swears they moved and were closer to the docks before...).
Not a big place, but plenty of seating - we ordered a couple of drinks and each got the chicken fajitas (what my husband had been dreaming of for 15 yrs). Portions are gracious, prepared very fast(!), and very good!
If they had moved locations I can see why - they are in the perfect spot for snorkelers to pop right into the water. And if you are thirsty once you get out of the water.... It really is location, location, location.

Ernesto's is the one place we must visit for every single Cozumel visit - breakfast, too! We have had most everything on the menu, and it is all awesome. Plenty of tables with a view (ernesto's is on the water), and the staff is super nice, too. My favorite items are the bloody mary, the chilaquiles for breakfast, the mucho grande breakfast, the nachos, the quesadilla's, the chicken enchiladas, and of course you must have guacamole with chips. And my son loves the limonada. And when you're finished eating, you can rent a jeep right at the entrance to the restaurant!

We eat here every time we come to Cozumel...sometimes more than once. They have a $3 breakfast that's great before you go diving...not too heavy, and made quickly. Then go back later for some margaritas and tasty salsa, nachos and quesadiilas. Nothing fancy, but it all tastes good.

Ernesto's is usually our first meal after we land in Cozumel. We really feel like we've arrived on vacation as we sit down to a platter of sizzling, flavorful fajitas and ice cold Dos Equis. The staff really hasn't changed and they are still as efficient as ever.
