“handy rainy day activity”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 8, 2013

Small museum with rooms devoted to stories about the history of the island. They have an exhibit which replicates and underwater reef. Outside when the rain breaks there is a very small mayan home setting. All exhibits have well written english. Since it is very stuffy dress for it. I enjoyed the small exhibit devoted to Jacque Cousteau and early underwater equipment. Museum only takes pesos and it is under $10 US. If you read everything it would take 1 to 2 hours. But because it is so stuffy it is hard to stay that long. There are 2 floors and ~ 5 indoor rooms.

“A visit to El Museo!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 20, 2013

...two floors of exhibits, local history, sea life, conservation, local artist and a nice restaurant with a great view upstairs. Enjoyed seeing local school kids visiting the museo and hearing them interact and talk in Espanol! Took less than an hour to see everything at a slow pace. They have a small gift store on second level.

“The food and ambience are great”

Located on the Malecon, the harbor view is one of the best in town. Coupled with the wonderful seafood it's hard to find a better combo for the price.

“Great Food & Attentive Service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 16, 2013

This is a small restaurant on the roof of the museum, but the food was delicious, well priced, and the wait staff was prompt and attentive. There is free wifi and the view is very nice. I don't think they have any true "indoor" seating, but it's all in the shade and cool.

“A great view”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 25, 2013

Museum is small but a good visit, especially with children. It takes about an hour to get through exhibits. The restaurant has good food; we had fish tacos and they were great. The view from restaurant is one of the best on island and the beer is cold and margaritas good.
