“Wonderful site, brilliant people......very, very hot”
Reviewed October 8, 2013

An amazing place to visit, really informative guides such a history behind the 'buildings'. Yes you do run the gauntlet of stalls, but the people are so friendly and not at all pushy. We had a great photo taken that was made into a Tequila bottle label! It is a long day however and always very, very hot. Take plenty of water, a good hat or parasol and mega-comfortable shoes. There is so much of interest about Mayan culture, even the guide on the bus was a mine of information. Be prepared to to see an amazing sight that will stay with you for a long time.

“One of the 7 new wonders of the world”
Reviewed October 7, 2013

you can't miss Chichen itza if you are already in Cancun
is one of the 7 new wonders of the world and If you are checking all visits to the wonders in the world this one deserves you taking the time and visiting it.
it was much nicer than macho pichu!
It's 3 hrs ride, but its ok, they take you in a nice bus and you can sleep a bit, then you stop for lunch and you can buy souvenirs and then you arrive to chichen itza, a must is walk fast after the guide finish so you can see the cenote Sagrado, the palace of the 1000 stones, and in the other side of the park, the observatory, the house of the nuns etc.. It's worthy the trip!

“Awe Inspiring History.”
Reviewed October 7, 2013

This historic site is a must do for everyone. To stand amongst so much history is awe inspiring. Not wishing to take away the significance of the visit, a decent map of the site would be very helpful. Remember to take plenty of fluid as it is extremely hot. Best accommodation at the site is Villas Arquelogica literally 10mins walk from back gate and unreal value for money.

“Nice place great photo opportunity”
Reviewed October 6, 2013 via mobile

We booked a day excursion with our hotel. The bus guide was great very funny and friendly. The place itself was full of photo opportunity . The only downfall is all the Mayan stall holders, selling things so cheap great to grab a bargain but you never get a seconds peace they hassling you each time you pass a stall. We was fortunate to have dinner and a swim in a cenote included in the price otherwise I would have said it wasn't worth the money. It gets very hot and very full early so earlier you arrive the better, we spent 2 hours there but to be honest once you walked round a couple of the buildings they all looked very similar . Great to be able to say that you visited one of the new seven wonders of the world but wouldn't go out of my way to visit again

Chichen Itza absolutely lives up to and exceeds its reputation. Stay close by if you can and start you visit when the gates open and you will miss crowds.
