The location is perfect. Just a couple of minutes walk to the entrance to the ruins. The room was good, the pool is very nice and the food at the restaurant was also very good.
Unfortunately there were more mosquitos in our room than outside at the pool. But other than that, we would recommend this place to beat all the tourist busses that arrive around 10am.

Great location, only a short walk from the ruins. It was nice to get to the ruins early before all tours arrived. You can have the ruins all to yourself for about a couple of hours. The hotel was built in a lovely colonial style. Rooms were small but clean and situated around a nice courtyard, with a pool. It was lovely to sit there and have a drink after a day at the ruins. We ate in the restaurant on a couple of nights and the food was delicious and staff were very friendly and polite. Breakfast was ok, American style buffet, perhaps a bit pricey. Overall the hotel was excellent value for money considering proximity to the ruins.

We stayed for 1 night to visit Chichen Itza. The hotel is located around 400m from the entrance which is very convenient. You can be there first thing in the morning, meaning you can avoid the crowds which usually start coming in around 10am.
The rooms are comfy and there is a nice pool and restaurant. Food was very good, however after breakfast my friend and I did not feel too well. Might have been the eggs…
Would definitely stay again.

The best thing about this hotel is its proximity to the ruins so you can get there early before the hordes. But it is also a delightful oasis on a hot afternoon. The grounds are lovely, the pool is refreshing, and the rooms were comfortable. It was very nice to come back here after a few hours at the ruins. We stayed 3 nights and spent much of two days at the ruins. We only had one breakfast and one lunch here--the breakfast buffet was uninspired; the lunch was good, although pricy. We ate most of our meals in Piste. I am very glad we had a vehicle so we could get back and forth easily. Their annual festival was on and there was entertainment in the town plaza every night--dancing and mariachi bands on the stage and a few vendors. We ate several excellent meals in town at very unassuming places. That was a highlight of the trip. I also loved all the maya art at the hotel (reproductions, I presume, but a nice touch). The only think I disliked about my room was that, when I tuned on the ac there was a very musty smell. But I didn't feel entirely comfortable leaving the big window open at night. The drinks were a little pricy in the bar. But overall, I would recommend for anyone visiting the ruins.

We stayed here 2 nights, spending early morning & late afternoon at the ruins for 1 day (with a guide for one hour only, who showed us the ball park in detail as requested). The style of the room may not be to everyone's liking, the beds are firm & comfortable with colourful bed spreads. Our room on the ground floor was quiet. Nice pool - my only comment, which we made to the 2 receptionists was that - there were no sun shades/ umbrellas for the sun loungers (only 2 chairs had any access to shade). This is a real problem in the Americas - I have commented on Trip Advisor a number of times from Las Vegas to Brazil - has no one heard of skin cancer?

Staff pleasant & helpful. Evening meals were fine, restaurant attractive & we stayed until middle afternoon on our last day, as our bus did not departed until 4.30pm. Finally be aware that a book on the ruins at the gate to the ruins would cost 520p at the gate, elsewhere its price is 300p!

I found Las Villas online and originally booked it because of its proximity to the archaeological site and its affordability. The pool is beautiful and refreshing (and cooooold!), and it was a treat to sit and read by the side after long, sweaty bus and collectivo rides. I also loved the reproduced Mayan statuary amidst the foliage. After spending the night at Las Villas, my friend and I were among the first to enter the park right at 8am opening time and our photographs hardly have another tourist in them! At 10:30 when the sun was heating up, we went back to Las Villas for our breakfast and lounged again by the pool to refresh, then headed back AGAIN to the site fully charged and stayed until 5pm closing! We then departed, having only stayed one night, but I would have been delighted to have stayed another. Compare the price of Las Villas to the super expensive "Disneyfied" Mayaland next door, and there really is no comparison for the value and experience! Then again, I am a cheapskate...

Room Tip: Our room overlooked the grounds and was quiet. I can imagine the same being true for those above the...

Nice and handy for the Chichen Itza archeological site. We only stayed the one night as part of our grand tour of Mexico. It was nice to be able to walk along the road (5 minutes) to the archeological site first thing in the morning before it got too hot. The cocktails at the bar are very good (and good value). I recommend their Pina Colada and Tequila Sunrise. We had dinner by the pool in the evening and the food was excellent. Good buffet breakfast.

Room Tip: All the rooms are on two levels and are all set around the courtyard, which contains the eating area...
