We enjoyed this resort a lot! The staff was terrific!
Swim up bar was super convenient. The wait staff at the Steakhouse is terrific and fun.
We tried different restaurants each night (have to make reservations for many each morning) and enjoyed them all.
some reviewers complained that some of the restaurants are in the sister property. I was at this resort with someone who is not able to walk much and we spent 1/2 our time next door at the pool and restaurants w/ no issues. The resorts are adjacent to each other. The entertainment staff is terrific and very fun. enough fun for the spring breakers who were there without being too lewd for the families who were present.
I would stay here again.

Room Tip: I recommend higher floors or very low floors due to elevator wait times. we had a room on floor 10...

We Booked our trip with Sunwing(Group of 15)
Flight from Toronto to Cancun plus transfer to the Grand Oasis Palm Very Good
Reception.. Did not have our reservation ....took 45 minutes to get a room then 1hour and half to get luggage to our room only after going down to get it ourself.They told us they took it to our room but no one was there . once we got a room we never left (we were waiting for luggage to change for the beach)L1
We had a nice room with Chocolate covered Strawberries and cheese wit a nice note Welcome Debbie and Ryan (very nice only not our names)
Then we went for supper they asked our names ...we do not exsist another delay.
But we get it straightened out and the meal and serve was good.
Day 2 ...we go for Breakfast ...we do not exsist a delay until they solve the problem again.
Meal was good (French Toast very good)
spent the Day at the Beach and pool service was great and staff very nice .
We are told get things worked out at the desk....
Day 3 ....ya we are finally on the guest list.
we go to the beach had a nice day come to the lobby and meet 2 ladies from our group and they tell us that there paid for in room key safe was robbed of $1200
Do not trust the safe
After telling the Concierge of the missing money the ladies start a long very long string of lies from the Concierge and their manager...who say the resort manager Ed is at the Police station because 2 staff member had been fired .Sunwing Rep. sat in on the meetings and we were told to wait on his return.
THE NEXT DAY A GROUP OF 5 CONFRONT THE RESORT MANAGER ED AND HE SAYS HE WAS NEVER OFF THE RESORT ALL DAY .BUT HE WAS LOOKING INTO THE MISSING MONEY.
I asked for the Police to be called after another day of lies and run around and the manager would not call the police ,
Final result ....of the missing money
Nothing was returned our group is very disappointed in the Concierge staff and The Resort Manager .
My suggestion on what could improve both areas .
The Concierge staff should not be all young kids and The Resort Manager Ed should be demoted until he learns how to do customer service and not tell lies as I am sure he knows how bad he looks now in hind sight .
Sunwing Rep should have taken control of the customer problem from Day 1 and looked after the problem so our group did not lose so many days and hours dealing with hotel lobby and management mistakes and lies.

We spent 6 days at the Grand Oasis it wasn't our favorite place by any means but it has some positives. First the positives: the place is clean, the beach is nice, the people working at the buffet are very helpful and hard working.

The negatives: the sales people selling the travel club stuff are very very very annoying, the food wasn't very good, lines were long, early reservations were a pain and the drinks were very poor quality.

General notes: this week was full of spring break collage kids, it was very loud each night at 3:00 am to 4:00 am we were woke up. We had our 9 year old with and a lot of the stuff going on was not appropriate for a "family resort".

Tips: having tip money in hand at the bar eliminates the wait at the bar.

We will not be going back to this resort.

The location is amazing, right on the beach no need to walk too far for anything. There are a number of quality restaurants which offer a variety of foods for all palates. The infinity pool is gorgeous and well kept, the property is clean and the main lobby is stunning and huge. The adults only bar off the lobby is relaxing after a long day with the kids. We spent every day banana boating or on the wave runners which was a blast. Generally speaking my 9, 11 and 13 years olds were thoroughly amused!

A trip to the flea market is recommended but go to the one outside of town it think its called Mercado 25, be prepared to bargain. it was quite the site my family of five arriving at customs in Toronto all wearing beautifully coloured Sombreros!!!

Our overall experience was excellent! The hotel had an excellent view of the ocean. Rooms were clean and spacious. Did not have a problem with the elevators. the food was GREAT we tried all 3 buffets a variety of food at each. We did not have a problem signing up for the restaurants we got the times that we wanted. There was plenty of chairs on the beach. Not so many around the pool at our building. The beach was not the greatest I like to walk the beach could only walk about 15-20 minutes boulders that you couldn't climb over had to head back. Our beach servers Marco and Hervin took great care of us. Isidro took good care of us no matter what restaurant he was at. We had no problems checking in or when we were checking out. Very satisfied!

Room Tip: Rooms on either the 9 or 10th floor very good view.

We stayed a week at the Grand Oasis Palm in February 2014. Unfortunately 2 days before we left I broke my foot so was non- weight bearing on crutches! Everyone at the hotel was so very kind and helpful-staff and other guests! Many thanks to Zoe at the concierge desk. She helped me rent a wheelchair-it came at 9AM the next morning ($75 for the week).
Our room was on the 8th floor-large, clean, wheelchair fit in the bathroom, tub/shower combo had a ledge around the tub and a grab bar on the wall so I could bathe. The elevators are very slow and small-if I could have walked I would have taken the stairs which loop the elevators . Ramps in & out of common areas are limited. One ramp out to the pool area from the lobby. Bathrooms in the nightclub and Mexican restaurant are not handicap accessible. Bathroom in lobby is. There is a paved walk by the beach to the sister hotel. The Kids club can not be reached by wheelchair unless you go the back way that is for staff use or go out on the street and go in the sister hotel lobby. Again the staff were all so helpful sitting us a roomy tables for meals, giving me a push up a ramp, holding a door open. There are paved sidewalks all along the hotel zone road. Buses were not handicap accessible. We took a day trip (rented a car) to a sister hotel in Tulum-beautiful but no ramp into the lobby! several strong doormen carried me in the wheelchair up the flight of stairs into the marble lobby!
I hope this review helps others who want to enjoy Cancun in a wheelchair

My family spent one week there in Jan 2014. After we visited other Oasis resort in Cancun (eg. Grand Oasis Cancun) we realized that the beach of Oasis Palm is not as good as others. If you are going to spend most of your time on the beach or taking pictures, please think it over.
The staff in Oasis palm are very nice. Food is very good.

Room Tip: The higher floor the better view.
