nice Market, many stalls selling similar items, but nice handcrafted souvenirs to find; be aware: do not confuse with Plaza 28 which is right where the Bus drops you off ( the bus from the Hotel Zone that reads "Market 28" ), the real Market 28 is a few blocks away on that same street. The Plaza 28 people will lie to you and tell you that this is Market 28, just to sell you stuff and keep you from going to the real Market. Don't trust the bus driver either- there is a tours stand across the street from Plaza 28, this gentleman was nice enough to notice us tourists being fooled, and directed us to the real Market.

Our bus rolled in with 50 or so ppl and were immediately "attacked" by the store owners. Once you get used to this, it was an okay experience for my family. We bought alot of gifts while there for some pretty good prices. TIP - the stores on the inner area (away from the parking) will give much better prices and if you are looking for a beer, the area with more food facilities have bucket specials. Look for the tower bathroom - a great photo op!!

Best place to buy souvenirs if you know what you're doing. Sellers will try to make as much as possible and who doesnt. If you have no idea what something is worth just make a lowball offer and see they let you walk away. Now you know to offer a little more to the next shop lol. If the price is marked then you will only get a little off that price like say its marked for $150 pesos you might be able to get it for $110 but if the price is not marked and they tell you $40 usd then you can probably get it for half that.

The vendors will keep asking you to look at their merchandise but just keep walking if you arent interested and that will be the end of it. If you stop and ask questions they will try harder to sell you something. Most are friendly and dont mind you ignoring them as its quite normal. If you want to be nicer just say no thank you and just keep walking, you dont have to reply to every word they say. Best prices over other souvenir shops as there is so much competition. So many vendors selling similar items. Go there everytime we are in cancun and always leave with a bunch of stuff.

If you are looking for that "typical" Mexican tourist market experience, this place fits the bill. Lots of T-Shirts and decorative junk with high starting prices and lots of room for haggling. If you've never been and want to experience just a little bit of culture, this place it OK. If you are wanting to buy quality goods in a comfortable environment this would not be the place for you. Nor is it an authentic old-mexico experience. We took our kids for a couple hours. They bought cheep sunglasses and had a good time.
