“Love this course!”
Reviewed August 13, 2014

This is our 2nd year at Moon Palace Resort. Both times we have played golf. We (as a family) are not avid golfers - but that doesn't matter, the courses are amazing and the golf associates are helpful and patient with us. Last year we were able to see a croc come out of the waters - that was GREAT! This year we had coatis cross our path a few times. But what we all liked best is the fabulous morning spent on the amazing but VERY CHALLENGING greens. You may use your resort credits for green fees...but not for club rentals or all the balls you will need to purchase if you play like we do. This year we were prepared a little better. We brought used balls with us (...and donated all 40 of them on the course). Be sure to tip your bartender/sandwich makers. Be sure to also enjoy the new restaurant they opened this year at the golf course. If you are new to golf - go ahead and give it a try - it doesn't get much better than this!

“Moon Palace Wedding/Honeymoon”
Reviewed August 1, 2014

The entire experience at moon palace was phenomenal. It is a large resort with lots for everyone to do and enjoy. Arrecifes restaurant was amazing Ernesto and Alejandro were our servers and amazing. They treated us like family and made our dining experience so enjoyable. The food there and Gondola was amazing along with all of the other restaurants and buffets. Our wedding at the Moon Palace was beautiful and easy thanks to a team of wedding planners but especially Zaray Casillas Lopez. She made the event seamless and easy. There are only amazing experiences from our stay at Moon Palace. Moises was a bartender with a great personality and also enhanced our stay. Thank you to everyone at Moon Palace for a great wedding, honey moon, and trip!

“Sheer Luxury”

It is so relaxing. Not only does it have a menu but you can spend the day being pampered. Use of a hydro pool, sauna, stream room. You get a locker with robes & slippers. Showers & toiletries to complete the experience.

truly one of the toughest place to go unless you like vegas style resorts...I had to attend a wedding for a day and ended-up taking 9 buses to various functions

“Just Okay”
Reviewed July 8, 2014 via mobile

We stayed for 6 nights, 7 days with our 16 and 13 year old teens. We won't be going back. Surprisingly, most of the reviews rave about this place, which is why we picked it. And, because they seemed to have amenities for teens.

Pros: lobby to lobby shuttle, access to sister hotel Beach Palace, pools, dolphin excursion on site, kayak/hobiecat rentals, room service, snorkeling trip through vacation planners; Hibachi, Brazilian, and Caribbean restaurants.

Cons: Resort credits, walk from Sunrise lobby to our room (Sombrero), buffet food was the same breakfast and lunch at all of the restaurants, communication, mosquitos, beach.

Our daughter was bitten 26 times the first night and 30 the next (with bug spray). She had an allergic reaction and we had to call the doctor onsite to tell us what to get to treat her at the pharmacy. Otherwise, if the doctor would have seen her, he charged $80 out of pocket.

The overall communication at the resort concerning activities, dress codes for the restaurants, and resort credits was terrible. The resort would benefit from a Program Director or better training of employees. We had to ask three times to get a consistent answer when we had questions, and sometimes the info was still incorrect. Best thing to do to figure out dress codes is to go visit the restaurant you want to go to for dinner during the day and ask the hostess. Some of the restaurants enforced the dress code, others did not.

The resort credits are a total scam - can only be used on the dolphin excursion and some things in the gift shop (limited to applying a small portion of the credits). For example, a pair of Maui Jim sunglasses were priced at $400 (not that much In the US) and only $100 could be used towards their purchase. On top of that, have to pay 16% tax on them. Total ripoff. We used some of the credits on a nicer bottle of wine at dinner and an excursion.

The food was dissapointing because all of the buffets were the same every day. Gets old really quickly. The lines for omelets and waffles were long.

Although there was a game room for teens, it was overly crowded most of the time. Our kids didn't want to bother trying to navigate through waiting in line to play the games. There wasn't anything for teens to do after 9pm and they were bored.

The beach was terrible - couldn't even swim in it. Smelled gross too.

We were able to go to Beach Palace two days - beach there is gorgeous.

Also, one other minor dislike - having to wear a cheesy bracelet all week as proof of our occupancy at the resort. Very tacky.

Overall, having stayed at other all-inclusive resorts in Mexico, this was nothing special. Wouldn't ever go back, especially for the price paid.
