I read other reviews of the little street-side Tacun restaurant and we decided to give it a try. The place is tiny, with only 6 or 8 tables, but the service was impeccable and dinner was absolutely incredible. I have prepared and served meals for an elite crowd many times and I was just blown away by what these guys can do. To begin with the guacamole was excellent and the margaritas delicious, Then we got the special of the day, which proved to be huge platters of combination seafood, including lobster, jumbo shrimp, a filet of fish that just melted in our mouths, mixed vegetable grill and baked potato. Topping all of that, we finished the meal with flan that had a chocolate cake base and a rich chocolate sauce drizzled over the whole thing. It was heavenly! Needless to say, we could not begin to eat all of it and took big to-go containers back to the hotel. The biggest problem with Tacun is in deciding what to choose to eat! I can see that it would take multiple visits to finally decide on a favorite meal. The food is truly superb. Go early or call for a reservation, since it fills up fast.
