This was a nice visit for a few hours. The displays are well laid out, but be aware not much signage in English. (Not complaining, just an FYI). The ruins on the grounds are pretty amazing, considering all the modern buildings around it. Also, they only accept Pesos, so be prepared.

Well arranged, excellent displays. Walk through the jungle was interesting. It is hard to believe that so many ruins were right there by our resort.

Take a local bus cost 8.5 Mexican pesos from the hotel each way, the ticket is 57 pesos each person. Very well kept, nice stroll through the archeological site and very nice (small museum).

I own at the Royal Mayan, and the area where the museum was built has been undeveloped since the Royals broke ground and ruins were discovered. I am SO glad that a museum has been built to incorporate the ruins, and add wonderful indoor exhibits above ground. I believe that 2 exhibits are permanent, with one that changes periodically. I notice that someone else has mentioned the absence of seating. There are benches outside but really, something is needed inside. The exhibit is extensive, and I would've spent even more time if I had been able to just rest occasionally. The others I was with felt the same. There was a variety of people viewing the displays, so it's not a tourist trap. However, not all the display posts have English interpretations as well, which would've been so helpful. Otherwise, fascinating and well done.

It has a beautiful rainforest-jungle with ruins, but unfortunately inside the museum there was no seating.
