“What a night! Gourmet food and impeccable service; Les Cepages was perfection.”
Reviewed March 15, 2014

We took a chance on this small, unassuming restaurant and were rewarded with a fine dining experience none of us will ever forget. Every facet of the evening was absolutely world-class, matching and beating the cuisine and service at our favorites in New York, Paris, Chicago, and New Orleans. The restaurant, nestled in a small local mall, is attractive and nicely appointed. We left satisfied, pleased, and genuinely happy.

Arriving by cab, we were greeted outside the front door by our wonderful waiter, Raoul, who, it turned out, had accepted our reservation and was waiting for us, making sure we found our way. From then on, Raoul was the perfect combination of ever-present but completely unobtrusive, answering our questions and tending to our needs the moment we looked around for help, yet invisible the rest of the time, allowing us to enjoy the sumptuous meal. Raoul did an excellent job describing and translating the menu items and the several specials, and he also recommended an excellent wine from the middle of the list (to me, a sign of honesty). He and his team offered impeccable table service, painstakingly aligning flatware and china, precisely timing servings, and dutifully keeping our drink, water, and wine glasses full. Most importantly, he seemed so personally invested in our satisfaction; he was very pleased when we told him we liked a course. At the end of the evening, we told him how impressed we were by the entire experience, the food, the wine, and especially the service; he seemed genuinely emotional that we were so happy.

While the service was the high point of the night, the food was equally impressive. Each appetizer and entree (there were four of us) was creative and artfully presented, and the portion sizes were plentiful. The meats were tender and cooked spot-on to our orders, and the seafood was fresh and delicious. Every course could not have been better. And, at the end of the evening, the chef came to our table to see how we enjoyed it all and to add his own thanks for our patronage.

We chose Les Cepages over some of the other larger, more famous restaurants, ones that are located in the hotel district and that are very expensive. We were so glad we went local, finding exquisite food, personalized service, and a local experience we will never forget.

“Dont miss this amazing restaurant!!!”
Reviewed March 7, 2014

We first discovered this place last May (2013) when we were staying at the Ritz. It was our anniversary and I had just mentioned that to our waiter (Raoul) in passing. We experienced the best meal we had on that trip that evening and when we ordered dessert, they brought out this wonderfully decorated dish with a candle wishing us a Happy Anniversary. It was a lovely and very kind touch!! We just went back to Cancun this February and this restaurant just keeps getting better! On every trip to Cancun, Ive had my best meal at Les Cepages. Chef Sal is a genuinely nice & kind individual who is a classically trained chef. His take on french / mexican is superb. The food is prepared to perfection, tastes amazing and the presentation is brilliant! We've eaten there three times and each meal has been superb. Even a lobster dish I had on this trip that was a little over-whelmed by the vanilla sauce, was still better than any other meal Ive had in Cancun.

Chef Sal and our waiter Raoul (sp?) took time to explain the menu selections (but everything is delicious, it really doesnt matter :). They both bent over backwards to make our dinners at this fine establishment very memorable. Aside from the excellent food & service, the decor is tastefully done (it's a very refined, but relaxing atmosphere). I will say it would be best to take a cab there even if you have a car. It's a little difficult to find, but absolutely worth the effort (cabs one-way were $20 from the Ritz and $25 from the Nizuc Resort).

If you are going to Cancun, make sure you visit this restaurant for your most memorable meal on your trip!!

Thank you Chef Sal and Raoul and cannot wait to see you next time!!

“Top notch!!!”
Reviewed March 2, 2014 via mobile

Just got back from Cancun. Our resort concierge told us about this small hidden gem, but boy--did it leave a huge impression! It was a Wednesday night, party of 6. Chef Luna is unbelievably gracious and talented. He was our server, our bartender and our chef. He caters to your every need and his attention to detail is incredible. Our table ordered three different salads--delicious masterpieces. Our dinners included: filet mignon, grilled fish with mussels, seared fish with mango salsa, lamb chops and my own meal--escargot raviolis. Everyone was delighted with their dishes. His homemade chocolate truffles were out of this world. I highly recommend this restaurant. It's worth the trip downtown! Thank you, Chef Luna!

“Fine dining again in Cancun city center”
Reviewed February 26, 2014

Once again we returned to Les Cepages with Chef Sal and our waiter, Raoul. The experience is one of the finest in Cancun. We were not disappointed. The food is deliciously prepared and beautifully presented....each dish is a work of art. Chef Sal presents the menu and describes his dishes in a way that you can tell he loves what he does. There are many choices for us in Cancun for our annual vacation dinners, but we will always make time for Les Cepages.

“Dining as fine as anywhere in North America!”
Reviewed February 12, 2014

Start with asparagus under melted cheddar. Washed down with a full and pleasant Malbec. Our salad included warmed brie on a homemade cranberry loaf, caramilized apple, grapes greens and several types of nuts all gently flavoured with a walnut dressing. We each chose fish, my wife's done in a wonderful citrus sauce, with fresh grapefruit wedges on a bed of perfectly cooked rice. Mine in a ragout of shrimp, muscles and lobster surrounded with a rich butter sauce infused with lobster.
Too full for deserts we finisher with an outstanding truffle and a commitment to return shortly. Be sure to include this before considering your homeward trip. You will not be be sorry!.
