Owner description: The only TPC Licenced property located outside of the United States, TPC Cancun at Cancun Country Club is the new standard of excellence in Latin America. Attention to detail, world-class service and amenities, and a professional, friendly staff-the hallmarks of private golf clubs throughout the world, until now. TPC Cancun provides a private club experience to each and every guest. Environmental awareness was integral to the design and development of TPC Cancun. Special care was taken with sensitive flora and fauna indigenous to the region, while designer Nick Price incorporated naturally occurring water features and elevation changes into his world-class creation. The course boasts wall-to-wall Platinum Paspalum, the Cadillac of grass in this region, as well as 84 bunkers and 5 lakes. Mr. Price succeeded in creating within each hole a challenge for golfers of all abilities. Located just minutes from the main Hotel Zone, Cancun International Airport and 25 minutes from Playa Del Carmen, playing the course is as convenient as it is memorable. TPC Cancun, the new standard of excellence in Latin America.

This is a course in a residential development 5 mins South of the International Airport. The development was conceived to host 2 courses, one designed by Nick Price and another by Tom Fazio currently the Nick Price course is open to the public. The course is mostly flat (remember that overall Cancun is flat land) through the 18 holes you will play in a combination of jungle and mangroves that are home to a variety of birds and mammals that will entertain you during your round. In regards of play, the courses offer 5 sets of tees to choose from for a total of 7,439 yds playing from the back tees. The fairways are wide and generous however the ball bounces off them a bit due to the compact of the soil and to the fact that turf has not yet grown completely, once this is achieved in constant basis the fairways will be able to receive the ball better. I noticed that approach areas where unusually moisty but playable this was perhaps due to the excess of rain that Cancun has been suffering for the past weeks. Greens are good, bunkers are challenging specially in a couple of holes that the green is almost surrounded by them. Service by the outside staff, beverage cart attendant and front desk was flawless. I will definitelly recommend to play this course now and more so in a about a year when I am sure the conditions will improve and will truly represent the standars of a TPC course.

When the Faldo course matures is will be fabulous. Fairways were firm and fast but thin. The green complexes were excellent, fair with some challenge. Bunkers were soft and fluffy and well positioned. But, it is still immature.

The Fazio course is still growing in and they advised me that it won't open for another 2 years or so - but what we saw of it looked fabulous!

The clubhouse looks like it will be awesome once it is open - sometime off though.

As a TPC Club member we have service and condition expectations - and while the club is not there yet it is definitely on the right path. So happy we played there and not the other Cancun courses.

We can't wait to come back next year and play it again after another year of maturity and we can't wait for Fazio to open!

On the week of June 17- 2013. Course explained they had a lot of rain the last couple of weeks. Couldn't make it past 5 holes without being eaten alive by the mosquitoes. They were everywhere, and much larger than we get back in the U.S. West Nile and Malaria are not worth it.

Drove back to the clubhouse and got a full refund without much of a problem.

Played third week of June. Don't go out without insect repellant. Course is beautiful, lots of sand! Staff very attentive. Not enough merchandise available in pro shop. In process of building clubhouse. Highly recommend.

My wife and I were in Cancun the week of June 2rd. We’re avid golfers and wanted to play at the TPC Cancun as a result of hearing its new and a challenging course. On the day of our Sunday arrival it rained for hours every day through Thursday, something unusual for the area. The course is located inside the Cancun Country Club, which is still in its infancy stage of development and construction. The actual course itself is complete but the Pro Shop still lacks some finishing touches. The last day of rain was Thursday morning and we were told the course would likely be open for play on Saturday and made a tee-time.
On our arrival we were greeted in the parking area by a swarm of mosquitoes that were larger than those we have in Texas. We warmed up on the driving, chipping green and putting green, all of which are great, and although the mosquitoes were fewer in numbers, they were still present. We teed off hole #10 because Honda was sponsoring a golf tournament that day. We were constantly disturbed by mosquitoes in the tee boxes, fairways, and greens, even after we applied “Off”, which we bought at exorbitant prices at the Pro Shop. On hole #12, the mosquitoes were so many that it was difficult to take a shot, and when you did, it was usually a bad one due to lack of concentration. When we got to the #12th green, we agreed playing in those circumstances was not fun and decided to quit.
At the Pro Shop we asked the lady for a refund, but she explained all she could do was offer a “rain check.” I explained it would be of no value because we live outside the country and don’t know when we will be back. After much discussion, we were granted a complete refund, which we are grateful for because the green fees are high.
What little we saw of the golf course is absolutely awesome with respect to layout, scenery, and quality of fairways and greens. Also, it is definitely a course designed for pros. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a challenging game, but only if it has not rained as much as it did when we were there.
