This place was beautiful, clean, friendly, and in the center of everything.

Beautiful beach
Great view
nice quiet pool
Nice staff

internet in lobby only. That is a drag
street is rife with hawkers and time share people
if you like loud Michael Jackson and Madonna from the nearby clubs day and night this is heaven

Room Tip: The music at night is loud nearby.

Awesome location! Right on the beach, next to the Forum. Very convenient! Great pool. Beautiful views. Reasonable rentals. Most units have small kitchens. Is not plush, but very clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. Small snackbar at pool, provides room service.

i stayed 4 days in this hotel and i think it's good to stay in it if you are not searching for luxious stuff. You get what you pay for. With 65 usd per night it's fairly priced. You are close to some great activity. Firstly, i selected it for the price but i was pleased to see how close it was (about 50meters ) to Coco Bongo, the most famous night-club int he city (if not in the country). I went twice there. Very special!!!!!! still remember every part of it....
Staying in 'Salvia Cancun' is good. Rooms are large, with a with nice view on the street, staff is always willing to help, overall the hotel is good. Choose it if you dont want to spend much (but stay in a clean room) , if you want to party at night and if you want to check your mail, use the internet in the lobby.
I would stay in it again if i am still searching for those things.

I did a lil research and grabbed the 2 story top floor penthouse for $100 a night. Its the only one in the building with a roof top balcony. while it may not be as luxury equipped as some of the remodeled smaller rooms its got the most wow factor. it can be rented direct from the owner. he also has another one that is anent door that you can rent with this one and it can be turned into your own personal palace.lol i think you can get them both for like $150 a night

Negative:
When I read some comments saying "noise/loud place" ...I could not imagine that I could really dance in my room like in a discotheque.
The discos are on the other side of the road, but from the rooms of the hotels (laguna side) you can hear the music all night, keeping the window closed ....and it's really loud indeed....Maybe windows are too thins.

The room in general is basic but not very clean. Our sheets were stained, the couch full of dust and the sink completely stuck

Positive:
the stuff was very friendly and help us to change the room at night, giving us another one on the sea-side (much less noise).
For this change, we had to pay 26 dollars more per night but...At least we could sleep.
Location is excellent if you want to party (exactly in the middle of discos, bars, etc) and the beach is amazing.

Actually travelled to Cancun last minute in the spring of '07 ( ignore the date shown below), was invited by a group of friend whose final party member had bailed at the last minute. Because of this, I had no idea what accommodations had been planned, just went along for the ride. Not usually a circumstance that pans out well, but I was beyond pleasantly surprised. Not meant to be a quiet resort, it is sits conveniently located near a number of restaurants and convenience stores, and a few night clubs. I'll will admit what some others have posted in their reviews is true, there is some crowd and traffic noise in the rooms lower to the street... But then I can only say that you are located in one of the party capitals of Mexico, and this is to be expected. Again, if you require something a little more peaceful and removed choose one of the hotels right up the way; a little closer to the airport. Also, if only one or two members of your party want a little separation, the upper floors and those facing the ocean are quite serene, and offer the best of both worlds.

For my money, it was perfect. The rooms and amenities themselves were ample, clean and spacious. We had a double and a larger four person room with living/dining/kitchen attached. These we found to be more than enough for six people for a week. We were also provided with a small entrance hall between the two rooms, yet seperate from the main hallway; and a balcony on both sides of the building. Beds were clean and comfortable, and strong air conditioning made sleeping very nice.

The location was well suited as well. Being that I had gone on short notice, my spending money was somewhat limited, but within a mile or two of our rooms, I was easily able to get daily goods, shop, buy some in room groceries, and find more than one restaurant, all on my budget. I was also lucky enoughbto be able go eat a few more high end meals with my friends, and stay on a slighty more economy food budget the rest of my stay.

In the end, a good value, quality, and location. If your a little intrepid, and don't mind a small amount of raucous fun (feel free to mix yourself in), this is a easy recommendation for me to make for any traveler to the area.

The location is perfect, the rooms and the front desk too. Avoid the lagoon view apts because of the noise.

Room Tip: Choose ocean view
