We were with friends in February 2014. Everything was just super! Nice and friendly staff, great food , good alcohol and a lot of entertainment programs in the evening. Also highly recommend to visit some cities close to Cancun, i.e. Tulum or playa del Carmen. We spent amazing 2 weeks in Mexico, so we will definitely come back there! P.S. if you are not lazy and like to keep fit even in all inclusive hotel , then you definitely need to go to the gym in hotel. They have a lot of machines and good choices of morning trainings (around 9 am). The instructor Aldo is just great! Very nice, friendly and a real professional in what he is doing! So just go and you will enjoy!

Just got back from a 5 night stay and I can say we will be back. We did the Royal Service, it was worth the cost just for the swimming pool. The pool is very large and quiet, and the Bali beds are great to help you stay out of the sun for part of the day. The guys in charge of the free sunscreen and Bali beds were fantastic and very helpful. The drinks looked to be the same in non Royal Service but the Royal Service was much more peaceful. We were hoping for some American beer as we like Miller Lite but non to be found so Tecata Lite was a close 2nd. If you like liquor they have the good stuff, Captain Morgan, Crown Royal, Jack Daniels, etc.
We did check out the non Royal Service pools and they were busy and not much room to move around. The Royal Service has a nice help yourself bar and a small snack area that made it nice to grab a snack and drink after spending the day in the water. We originally had a small room (think motel 6) on the lagoon side but after seeing the rooms of some other guest we emailed Natalia(she is awesome) and were moved to a larger room with partial ocean view immediately. If you like to sleep in late, the lagoon view is nice as the sun rises in from the ocean side and the room can be very bright. The food was good and we found room service to be quick and also very good.
Do not go off property as another couple that we met did go to Freds Seafood across the street and the bill was over $600 for 4 people. Not pesos but dollars! The bar Coco lounge that sits outside and faces the ocean was fun at night and usually very busy. Nice play to see the stars and the moon and the cruise ships at night. There is a 9 hole golf course on site that we never played but we did take a walk around and it is in nice shape, very short holes (90-110 yards) but greens were well taken care of which did surprise me. It gets hot so play early.
If you do not do Royal Service just request to be away from Tower 3, there is a disco lounge that we could hear outside. We only had a couple issues, 1 was the 1st room which they took care of and the other was a waiter at the pool (Francisco) was very slow and once we complained about his service he completely ignored us. A supervisor even came up to my wife the day after she complained about Francisco and asked if she needed a drink. She said she ordered one a it would come eventually, he asked to help and she felt very uncomfortable because she didn't want any more issues with Francisco after I had to flag him down to get us a drink. It was very disappointing to be uncomfortable in the pool area over this one waiter. Give them a few dollars up front and they come quicker. We tend to tip and the end of the day, and learned that this does not work if you would like good service by the pool. Overall, we enjoyed the stay and will be back

We stayed from February 17-21. The weather was great. We had a room that faced the bay in the front of the hotel. Room was clean and comfortable. When we checked in, it did take a while, but not terribly long. The staff was very friendly and explained the amenities. Had the pleasure of meeting Iran who was very gracious and helpful as well as friendly whenever he saw us always asked how we were doing and if there was anything we needed or that he could do for us. The greenery inside of the hotel is nice and refreshing. We did have poor wifi reception inside of the room which was the only issue we had with the hotel. Nothing that ruined the time there though. The breakfast was delicious and had such a nice variety of options. We had a great server named Isaias who took great care of us. I loved the fresh juice bar! When we were laying out on the beach, Miguel attended to us and continued to make sure we had water and whatever other beverages we wanted. We had our favorite meal inside of Fuego where Hector and Carolina had us laughing and eating great food. Hector explained the menu really well and we loved the version of ceviche from Fuego. We had such a great stay and will definitely come back in the future.

Stayed for 3 nights / 4 days -- and was very excited, based on excellent reviewed on TripAdvisor. Unfortunately, our high expectations were not met. We've stayed in many All-Inclusives in different Mexico cities, and Dominican, but were not impressed. We go to Mexico for the beach and we felt like we went to a Biosphere. None of the windows open in any of the restaurants except the Nano's one which is the main buffet style restaurants -- we like, open dining and the breezes of the sea. Looks very pretty in the hotel at night, but again, felt muggy and musty inside with no fresh air. Smelled in incense and candles and strong scents everywhere -- no thanks. Believe me, we wanted to love it -- but would not return. Would try a different place on the same beach--- should have stayed at Live Aqua like my friend recommended! Uh -- so bummed.

PROS:
- Beautiful beach with crystal clear water!
- Nice pools that span the hotel
- Food was good - was easy to get reservations each night

CONS:
- Arrived at 10:30am, but room was not ready until 2:15pm.
- I signed up for Melia Rewards prior to our trip, requested early check-in online, but did not hear back and they did not give me any extra treatment for being a member
- We were immediately assigned a concierge at we stood in line to check in -- she asked us if we wanted a drink -- we ordered a Coke and a water -- she gave the water, and then held up a Diet Coke and said, we don't have a Coke and made no attempt to get one. I said I'll take a water.
- After waiting in line for 15 mins -- we were told our room was not ready.
- Main dining area closed from 11am - 12:30 while they went to breakfast to lunch, disappointing since no other food to be found
- Reserved a Lagoon View Deluxe Suite and got Room 4014 in far right pyramid off in the middle of no where (near spa) which faced a back service driveway -- no lagoon.
- Bags were delivered within 10 mins after got into room, followed immediately by a welcome dessert.
- We were exhausted and took a nap, 2 hours in to our nap, there a constant noise at the door for 10 mins, went to see what it was, and it was the hotel staff trying to open the door, but the key pad did not work -- I opened the door, he apologized, I shut the door.
- After we came back from dinner that night, our key pad did not work, walked back to get new keys, still did not work, they sent someone to fix -- needed new battery, they fixed, and called to see it was OK
- Day 2 there was an envelope with note inside from hotel saying come to lobby for your Welcome Gift. We sensed it was a push for a time-share hard sell, and decided to ignore.
- Later that same day -- received a call in our room, asking if all was good, and if we are coming for our Welcome gift - I said no. She asked if we already got it, I said, no thanks, don't want it.
- There was another message left on our phone, but we did not listen to it, could not figure out how to retrieve it.
- Felt the staff was very pesty. We kept our Do Not Disturb sign from Day 2 on.
- Hardy any lounge chairs around pool, and had to put towel out by 7am to get a spot
- Downloaded their app, after seeing signs in the hotel, and it did not have all the most current info on it. Tried to reserve Tennis courts -- and space was double booked. Asked front desk and they said the app doesn't work for Tennis.
- Only one set of tennis rackets avail for rent -- and they are crappy rackets
- The fences around tennis court (yes, one court) is super low, easy to lose balls -- and hotel charges if you lose tennis balls

Room Tip: Avoid main pyramid where the lobby is -- it would be very noisy. Shoot for one on either side of it...

We were snowed in for months in Hawthorne nj and needed a quick getaway, so we used our time share, and hope a plane. The weather was fantastic! The people was so nice. The hotel is beautiful. One night my boyfriend wanted to do something special for me. The hotel worked with him and put rose pedals all over my room. I was met with champaign and chocolate covered strawberry, it was great. Thank you paradisus for a wonderful well needed 5 day gateway. It truly was the best, and would recommend everyone come and buy a timeshare here, you won't regret it.

Room Tip: Request a good mattress, on the higher floors
