This beautiful resort/hotel is trying to keep up with the current trend of being an all inclusive. Don't believe it. The Mexican restaurant is good and the breakfast buffet is outstanding but the rest of the restaurants are so-so. I went of the ranch for all the rest of my meals. And they have now decided you have to wear a wrist band -- first year for that! I felt like a dog being tagged. Depending on your status it was a different color. I have been coming to Cancun and the Melia for many years. It is beginning to show its wear. They need to put more into the physical place and less into the showy stuff like purple curtains in the bar. As always the help are wonderful people.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the ocean and in the second pyramid.

We stayed here from 3/27/13 to 4/2/13. Originally we had reservations at the Omni but they overbooked the hotel and bumped us to the Paradisus. The all inclusive food is not that great but if u pay $45 at Tempo you will get an experience similar to eating at high end restaurants in New York. The waiter Raul was outstanding as was all the other staff. The chef was excellent. We received a nine course meal that included two entrees and three deserts. The appetizers were unique and fantastic. The Veal entree was the best I have ever eaten. Maybe the chef at Tempo could give some pointers to the other restaurants. Another drawback is the loud music blasting your room from lobby below. It was hard to hear our TV. All in all the hotel was excellent. The wait staff on the beach worked really hard having to deliver drinks and food walking in semi deep sand. Most all the staff in the hotel were great. I got an excellent pedicure from Sylvania (think that was her name). She even talked me into a layer of glitter on my toes.. The Spa was great. I had a 50 minute massage that relaxed my whole body! It was a great vacation but wish we had gotten an ocean view. We had reserved one at the Omni originally.

Room Tip: Rooms at ends of hotel are quieter. Main tower room has good view of lagoon and city of Cancun

I was transferred to his hotel because the hotel I was supposed to stay was overbooked.
The hotel has an architecture design from de 80´s but is in a very good condition.
We stayed (my wife, my one year old son and myself) for five nights at the Paradisus. The staff courtesy was more than great, !very friendly people!, and I must say the food was excellent and the wine selection is very good. The only thing I would correct are the rules for getting the “Palapas” at the beach, since my son is a very early morning person, I would hit the beach sometines at 07:45 A.M. and all the palapas were already occupied, I could not believe this, and must of the times each palapas had more than three sun-beds and in fact they were only using one. or two at the most
I woul come back ANY time to this hotel.

Room Tip: choose a room facing the "laguna" not the sea, so you would be able to see the sunset

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking the time to post your review of our hotel on Trip Advisor. We were pleased to read that you enjoyed the hotel and all of its amenities.

We regret to learn that you were affected by the reservations of the beach/pool chairs made by other guests, nevertheless we must remark that our resort does not encourage this situation, on the contrary, the towels used for reserving pool chairs are retired by the members of our staff after 30 min if any guest is using it.

We truly appreciate hearing from satisfied guests like you, and we all look forward to your return.

Kind Regards,

We are part of the Paradisus vacation club (time share) so we spent a week at Paradisus Cancun during March. This all-inclusive hotel is fantastic for those who are looking for great food, great service, and beautiful facilities. The beach is one of the prettiest I have seen and it is well-maintained. Our family included two younger children and four adults, all of who enjoyed our week in the sun.

There are many restaurants that are very good. The buffet for breakfast was always great. Their french toast was fantastic and their omlette station was always great. Lunch could either be taken by the pool with wings, fries, burgers and nachos or at two different restaurants- the buffet or the pasta/pizza/sandwiches. The wings and fries were always our favorite. For dinner, we ate at a different restaurant every night. My favorite was the sushi place but there was also a brazillian steak house, tapas, tacos, authentic Mexican, the buffet, or an adults only place (we didn't eat there). If there was ever a problem, the staff worked dilegently to correct the situation, often going overboard to make it up. The pool was wonderful and the pool staff was very attentive- our cups never went dry.

There were a few minor issues that overall did not affect our vacation. They recently transitioned from a resort hotel to the all-inclusive Paradisus resort. There were a few cliches with the system and a bit of a language barrier since we were not proficient in Spanish, which sometimes led to difficulties with services but overall, this was a great vacation.

As a parting thought, if you need a massage or any type of spa service, the Yhi spa at the hotel is wonderful. We got three massages and a manicure and everyone was satisfied. I am still relaxed from my massage.

Would go back in a heartbeat!

Room Tip: Water view from all sides- but the ocean side is the best!

I do not usually like to go to all inclusive resorts but this was fantastic. We booked through Cheap Caribbean Vacations and received a great deal. When we drove up to the property I was very, very impressed with the structure. When we walked in we were sent to the Family Concierge where the great staff, Fernanda in particular, took care of everything. Could not be nicer or more helpful. The Hanging gardens in the center of the hotel were amazing. The food in each of the Hotel restaurants were high quality and excellent. I really liked the hotel, the restaurants, the bars and the room. Just great. I could not have been happier.

Friendly and Excellent service throughout our stay in pyramid 5 (royal service). Staff went out of their way to make this an unforgettable vacation. Manager, Lazarro Ascencio, was very helpful and immediately addressed issues. Pool concierge, Sergio, went out of his way to ensure we are happy. He even helped to arrange a bouquet of red roses and special breakfast in the wedding "chapel" on the beach!!! Octavio, one of the servers, arranged a special desert and birthday cocktail for my birthday. We received excellent service at this resort. There are multiple a la carte restaurants and the food was excellent!!
