Description: A great alternative to the more expensive La Parilla down the street. Great food and outstanding service at lower prices.

This restaurant is full of gringos but i gave it a chance.Sat down got the sides like nachos and sauces. When you sense that the sauces is very bland on a restaurant, you get a picture how good the chef is.Ordered the Burrito Arrachera and it was ok.The menu is geared toward tourist with pastas etc.The funny part is that a very good authentic restaurant called El Asador is squeezed between this restaurant and another touristtrap called la Parrilla. But it is always empty due to it doesn´t pay hotel employees to talk about them.Still the quality is better than Arcos and Parilla.

Unpretentious establishment with tasty food in the heart of Downtown Cancún. The prices are more than reasonable and they have a number of drink deals that make a meal even more affordable. Wasn't there for the live music, but our dinner was delicious and filling. Again, this is a restaurant that isn't cheap where portions are concerned. Service is friendly, but can be a bit slow if the place is busy. Overall, Los Arcos is a good option if you are looking for good Mexican food in the downtown area.

I went to Los Arcos because it was convenient and I was too hungry to "shop" menus. I was too early for the music and wasn't drinking, so I missed the much touted drink specials. Perhaps it was unfair to order enchiladas con mole because I assume it's not a dish unique to this area. It was very bland with no hint of chiles in the sauce. The chicken enchiladas were dry and tasteless.

We found this restaurant returning from a hospital and saw musicians walking into the restaurant, so that was our recommendation. Half of the restaurant sits outside next to the sidewalk under awnings they roll up and down depending on the weather, and half is inside with several TVs tuned to soccer matches. Our waiter, Antonio, met us at the entrance, seated us next to the street and got drinks on the table immediately. Storms the previous two evenings kept the temperatures pretty mild for an August evening, and sitting outside was ideal.

I think this place had a two-for-one drink special on almost everything, and three-for-one on beer Either way will cost 60-75 pesos (about $5-6 USD at this time). The menu is in Spanish and English. Our experience is to trust the Spanish. We ordered two shrimp dishes, sauteed in different sauces; both described in Spanish as camarones, but the English translation for one of the dishes was "fish filet." Shrimp came out in both dishes, both of which were very good. Both dishes cost about 145 pesos. The rest of our meal for five included guacamole (good, not spectacular), queso with chorizo (not served hot enough, the cheese was very stiff) and chicken burritos (good, and a nice size for dinner). Total bill was 1045 pesos ($90 USD).

There were several musicians strolling through the restaurant, but they did not pester the patrons. If you would like them to play, say "Si"; if not, "No, gracias" and they move on. We noticed later they move from restaurant to restaurant, as there are several restaurants on this street. Los Arcos has a nice ambiance and good food for casual dining, and we will keep it on our list of restaurants to return to.

Taxi ride from the hotel zone was $135 pesos, about $11. Not too bad since the minimum charge in the hotel zone is 100 pesos. The cab driver gave us his card, pointed out the number on his taxi, and asked if we would have the waiter call him, he would pick us up for the return trip. We did not have to call, as we saw him pull up and park in front of Los Arcos as we were finishing our meal. We find taxis are usually 10-20 pesos cheaper going into the hotel zone than coming from, but we were not about to quibble over the convenience of having the driver wait for us!!

Los Arcos in a great place in Cancun Downtown! They have great food, reasonable prices and really the best live rock music in area!!! :) They have also promotional prices if you buy 2 or 3 drinks in one shot. You must try their pasta and stuffed potatoes.
