“Wonderful!”
Reviewed May 18, 2014

We stayed there for a week and had a wonderful time. Our room was an Ocean Front Master Suite on the preferred floor. It was a corner room which was over 1000 square feet with 2 bathrooms, 5 huge closets, a dining room, living room, family room, and mini bar area, plus had floor to ceiling windows on all 3 sides. Pure luxury! We loved the pool for preferred guests since it was quiet and not overly crowded, plus we could eat lunch at Olio which had delicious perfect size plates. We especially loved the tuna taki and the lobster/steak skewers. The staff was extremely friendly and went out of there way to make sure our stay was perfect. We planned to have a romantic dinner outside, but it was too windy so they had it indoors for us. The table was decorated with rose petals and, Francisco, our server planned our whole menu, which was absolutely perfect!! The only things we didn't like about our experience, was 1st, our dining experience at Niebbolo. The food was wonderful, but our server kept pushing us to purchase $100 bottles of wine and wouldn't take 'no' for an answer. In fact, as preferred guests, we thought we should receive upgraded bottles of wine free of charge, especially since we are wine connoisseurs and the house wine wasn't very good. 2nd, we somehow got talked into a 2 hour sales pitch about getting an Amstar membership, which was a complete waste of a morning - but at least we got $200 to spend at the spa for our time. Lastly, the thermostat in the main room broke and wouldn't warm up past 60 degrees. We kept asking them to fix it, but unfortunately, it never was. Anyway, compared to the fantastic time we had, those unpleasantries were minor. I would highly recommend staying at this resort!

We just returned yesterday from a week at Secrets the Vine, this was our second trip in 10 months. We love it there. The service is almost always incredible. We did have better service last year, seemed to be not so attentive this year. We would always request Jimmy at Market Cafe and Jorge at the Dragon for our servers. They both are incredible .... Seems both this year and last year it took us 1.5- 2 hours for dinner at the Blue water, food is good but service is very slow.
We would recommend the Preferred status rooms, however let me say we never met our butler once , last week. (Very Disappointing) Check in and check out are pretty easy.
Overall we were very satisfied , only wished they had a buffet for dinner as well as the other dinner choices, and more pool floats.
We will return, and I'm only given a 4 star because the service really did lack this time.

Room Tip: Go Preferred it is worth the extra money.

I stayed there just one amazing weekend, from april 25th-27th and it was an amazing experience, we stay on the 21st floor, in the preferred area and was totally worthy, I could not praise enough the preferred area staff, specially the afternoon concierge (think Emilio is his name), the hotel is beautiful and modern, the food, everything was almost perfect. Last year we stayed at the Secrets in Puerto Morelos and thought that any secrets hotel could be better, i was mistaken, The Vine it is so MUCH BETTER in so many ways, we took a couples massage another great experience; but what we really loved was the food at the Mediterranean restaurant, i dare to say that was one of the best dinner i have ever had.
I could go on and on about how great this hotel is, but i think that people should see for themselves, you will not regret it! Specially if you are like us celebrating seen each other after almost a year part… Can wait to return

Room Tip: The best views come front rooms above the 21st floor, you pay a little bit more but i think it is to...

I stayed here alone for a few days of R&R after a ranch stay in Mexico City. It was the perfect destination for a lone traveler to lap up the sun and fill up on great food and drink. Check in was slick and easy. The room i had overlooked the ocean, was very large and had various mod cons.

The lobby area is large and has various areas to play board games if you're unlucky enough to have bad weather. The lobby bar is large and does great cocktails with branded alcohol, all included in the cost.
The breakfast buffet is one of the most elaborate I've seen, with sushi, various chefs theatres and BBQ over the traditional cooked and continental breakfast selections.
The pool areas a great, with waitress service for food and drink.
The spa was amazing, I booked in for a swedish massage, which was wonderful. They offered me a free foot massage the next day, which wasn't so good (the woman was on her phone whilst massaging me!), but I think this is an anomaly, and I'm sure if she carries on doing that, she won't be there much longer!
This is a wonderful hotel, ideal for solo travellers, adult groups or couples.

Booked with Virgin Holidays and stayed in the ocean delux for 7 nights May 2014 with my husband. Hotel is amazing with plenty of choice for food and drinks (including vegetarian). Setting of the pool and lounge bar are fantastic with stunning views of the beatiful clean beach.

service for drinks was perfect at the beach also and we never struggled to get a lounger. Didnt have to reserve at restraunts and concierge service was great in organised Chichen Izta tour for us.

La Isla shopping mall with small aquarium is a short 1 Dollar bus ride away - as are the bars of cancun. the bus stop is outside the hardrock - watch out for the hardrock salesman waiting to pounce on those returning to the secrets from the bus stop! - pushy salesmen that cant take no for an answer- best to ignore them.

rooms service was a tad disappointing - would advise just going down to one of the restraunts to eat as the food took a while and the quality wasn't great.

comedy show at the piano bar was great and the dancers in the lobby were a nice surprise to come accross one eve- there was always some kind of entertainment in the evenings.

My only issue was that Grey Goose vodka was only available for preffered guests- I feel that was a bit cheeky of the hotel- I can understand champagne and expensive wines to be reserved for preffered guests but the bars should offer Grey Goose to all.

overall fantastic hotel- location, service, rooms, food and beach were all 10/10.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the highest floor possible - I can imagine the A/C units outside on the Sandos sid...

Just returned home and had a very nice stay at the hotel. It is truly beautiful and modern. The food was fabulous and we liked that the restaurants didn't need reservations. The staff was very friendly and helpful and there were plenty on hand. The few negatives were the lack of nightly entertainment. There was only the piano lounge for dancing and a few games nights with the games lasting a max of an hour and a half. Also the tide was very strong and dangerous while we were there and we felt guests should be notified prior to swimming in the ocean of the dangers as we witnessed many near accidents from people who underestimated the strength of the currents. Miguel in the restaurant was fabulous. As were the bartenders. The sports bar was very quiet. The lobby coffee bar was wonderful. We enjoyed our stay and would come back however might try somewhere else next time for a different experience.

Before I can even start by describing the hotel, let me start by saying "THANK YOU" to all the staff members at the Secrets The Vine Resort...From the security guards, to the front door staff, the concierge, the bar staff, the restaurants staff, the poolstaff, the housekeepers, the welcoming front desk staff all of them were high class with no exception ( Especially RENE at the front desk: He was kind and welcoming, ready to help, a true gentleman) Honestly to everybody... THANK YOU...

I have travelled a lot in my life so far and this is the first time that I am totally pleased with a resort or hotel... What made the hotel extra special was the staff members... We were treated like "Queens", they were doing their jobs "yes" but they didnt stop by doing their jobs, they went the extra mile to reach excellence with true acts of kindness, generosity & respect... My experience with the staff members has humbled me as a human being and has allowed me to be greatful and thankful everytime someone shows kindness and respect.... and I will 100% return back at the Secrets The Vine for sure... :)

NOW THE RESORT:

Hotels that offer luxury and elegance get noticed and Secrets the Vine Hotel (Resort) is one of them: What you see online is what you get.... From the entrance, reception area, the lobby, the rooms, the restaurants, the pools area, the bars... beautiful, classy, sophisticated, elegant & current ...Simple yet charming...

The arrival Monday 5th-12th May 2014 at 5h45 PM (Two girlfriends): Check In-> We were welcomed with champagne, warm towels...Big smile and politness... cant fault it

The Front Desk... Amazing and Fast...The Check in took less than 15 minutes... The room was ready... On point.

The Room: simple and elegant, very clean (House Keeping ladies came two to three times a day to clean). 17th floor, room 1716 beautiful view from the lagoon & Ocean. Room service perfect, 30-45 minutes from the time you order (Not bad at all)

Overall experience: The Gym on point, Ocean view, healthy drinks, clean towels, spacious and a trainer (instructor) always around to help. Breakfast... My favourite time... spoiled with choices, just amazing... cocktails how you want and when you want, the choice is yours... Food during the day and late hours, cant complain & cant fault the service, again when you want and how you want...Your choice... The swimming pools and the party area -> very clean with members of staff ready to help.

If I can fault it: one small thing... steam and sauna is not included, what a shame, it is part of the spa, so you have to use the spa in order to use the sauna and steam, meaning you have to pay some services in the spa... But they give you discount coupons up to $300 usd to spend in the spa... -:)

Check Out-> We checked out at 12pm, however because our flight was at 6 pm & the shuttle wasnt coming until 3pm, they gave us a ticket that allowed us to still use all the facilities in the hotel, food, drinks, pool area, lobby, restaurants.... AMAZING :)

I was extremely pleased with Secrets The Vine... and the warm welcoming from the staff made it even more special so next time you go there, respond to kindness by an act of kindness & give also respect back because, they deserve it.... :-)

CANCUN trip was amazing, beautiful island and the locals are warm & welcoming too...CANCUN is beautiful....

THANK YOU & See You Again....
