We stayed at the resort for 7 nights after a roundtrip through Yucatan.
We booked the club floor room, that was very nice, modern, clean and with a nice view over the sea.
The service was great, too. The staff did everything for a unforgetable great holiday. The food in the restaurants was delicous: good mexican, italian, asian and american food.
Although it is a luxury hotel with dresscode and expensive rooms the guests sometimes do not match. I think as Europeans we are used to fashionable clothes and good dressed people in such a hotel but guests there do not mind.
After a while you will get used to the different way of behaviour of american and canadian people and just keep smiling while watching them. If not just book a hotel at Playa del Carmen where Europeans prefer to stay.
All in all people were really nice and we enjoyed our holiday very much. The beach is a little small for all guests (only a few umbrellas!) so we sometimes had to go to the private pool with also excellent service.
To get to Cancun town you can take a bus that departs behind the hotel.

Room Tip: club floor

Just got back from" Secrets The Vine Cancun,"and it was the best hotel I have stayed in. I was upgraded to a prefered club room which was absolutely enormous. The food was excellent gourmet cuisine ( weren't too keen on the Mexican restaurant though ). Service was very good, staff very friendly and the hotel was scrupulously clean. This is the first time I have stayed all inclusive, but this hotel was exceptional. The alcohol was top drawer, and in one of the bars you could help yourself, truly unbelievable. Would return again definitely............( when"s the next flight)?
Ruth.........Maida Vale London

Room Tip: If you can afford it, I would recommend the prefered club room.

We stayed at Secrets this May and were extremely pleased with our stay.
On arrival, we were welcomed with a glass of champagne and then introduced to our butler who showed us to our room on the 21st floor, also guiding us to the preferred club swimming pool and informing us about all the different restaurants.
Our room had fantastic views of both the Caribbean, the lagoon and the Cancun strip. All rooms will have views of the ocean and lagoon due to its design.
All restaurants were very nice with our 2 favourites being Dragons & The Blue Water Grill Steak House.
There was always plenty of room around the swimming pools so there was never a need for the early rise for the towel on the sun bed run.
We did the kitchen tour which was entertaining and also educational.
At the end of our stay, one of the questions on the hotel questionnaire was our favourite member of staff but we couldn't put down any individual as all the staff were extremely polite, friendly and helpful.
I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

We moved here after 3 disappointing days at Now Jade, and thankfully we did as this is what you expect from a 5* resort. Beautiful rooms with lovely view, whole hotel decor and feel is beautiful, great attention to detail. Not your usual carribbean/Mexican hotel but if you like fresh contemporary design like me you'll love it! Food was wonderful, particularly Italian (Nebbolio) and Japanese (dragons) only issue was trying to get an umbrella in the day unless you were out mega early you had to ask and sometimes bit of a challenge! Overall stunning new hotel which would recommend no problem. :)

Modern, hi rise hotel on the beach. Food was excellent. Drinks were good if you ordered directly from the bartender. Unfortunately service was not good. The rooms were interesting. They all have a very nice view of both ocean and bay and pools. But the funny part was the bathroom, or lack thereof. In actuality, there was no bathroom in the room, just 2 glass enclosures sitting in the room. Its like they were trying to save money on walls. Ladies, vanity area is so tiny, no room to put the makeup, brushes, toiletry items. Had to go to the concierge and borrow a plug because there were so few outlets. Balconies have zero privacy, you can see through to every balcony on your floor. Pools and beach very crowded, there is just not enough space for this size of a building. Overall, we had a fun time in Cancun, as always, but its a one time resort.

Dear BeachInMexico,

Thank you for taking the time to write about your experience on your recent stay with us.
We are very sad to read that our resort was not up to your expectations; we do apologize if there were any shortcomings on your stay and we encourage our guests to reach us for any assistance they might need during their holidays.

It’s very important that I mention that our resort promotes Mexican artist's paintings and all our furniture, sheets and pillows are made in México by Mexican brands, our outside facade was inspired by the second largest reef in the world and largest in México & simulates fan corals. The pool area is layered in platforms and water intersecting on its way down to the ocean, just like the water on the Yucatan Peninsula seeps through layers of limestone finding its way to the sea.

We sincerely hope you can give us the opportunity to host you again in a near future to provide you with experience with the quality that distinguishes our brand.

Sincerely,

Zuleica Ávila

My wife and I just returned from a stay at Sercrets the Vine. I can say that many of the reviews of the resort are very accurate. The negative reviews I really find questionable but everyone has their own tastes.
When we arrived at the resort we headed to check in which was very quick and were directed to the VIP desk. The man asked if we had been to Cancun before and after saying yes he simply gave us the resort credits and we were on out way. One negative thing I can say about Secrets is the credits we found not to be that useful. To many odd restrictions and ways you had to use then. When we stayed at Le Blanc the credits there were much easier to use and we actually were able to use all of them. Here at Secrets we didn't use any.
Our room was on the 15th floor. I really liked the rooms here at Secrets. If you are booking try to get at least 18th floor as the buildings next door can obstruct the views. We never had any problem with noise in the room. If you are watching tv though beware of channel 36.
The beach as in all of Cancun is beautiful. No problem getting chairs, towels, or umbrellas, except the first day. We asked for an umbrella three times and no luck. Apparently we had our chairs moved to far forward, although it would have been nice if someone would have said that rather than our requests ignored. We learned from the staff the next day when we asked about this.
The gym has an awesome view and new equipment. This could be a great gym, although as with other hotel gyms they don't really accommodate serious gym rats. If you normally train at Planet Fitness it will work for you.
My wife enjoyed the spa and said it was very nice, once again she could not use the credits for the things she went for due to restrictions.
We enjoyed all the restaurants. Oscar at Olio was a favorite server of ours. The food was very good, I can't say there was a meal I didn't enjoy. Room service menu was somewhat limited compared to places we stayed in the past. If I was to be overly critical the beef tenderloin seems like a tougher cut of meat than what's used in other places (Le Blanc and Live Aqua). Maybe they could look at different meat suppliers. Also seemed like they were offering the tenderloin less and substituting the rib eye or flank. The menu for the restaurants in the Secrets app lists it but when arriving and looking at the menu at the restaurants it was only offered at the Italian and Olio.
The resort is really beautiful and we would love to go back. If we do I would try to get a higher level room or try out one of the suites. We had the deluxe room which was great but it would be nice to stay in some of the other options as they are really nice.

We Planned This Vacation For Months For Our 11th Anniversary! This Was Our 1st Trip Out Of The USA Since 2001! We Read All Of The TripAdvisor Reviews On How Beautiful Secrets The Vine Resort Was & How Wonderful The Food Would Be At This Adults Only All Inclusive Resort! We Both Were So Excited To Have An Entire Week Of Being Pampered.

We Spent The Extra Money To Be On The Preferred CLub Levels! Which The Only Thing That Gets You Is Higher Up In The Hotel Above Floor 21 & The Ability To Go To The Preferred Club Pool & Lounge Neither Of Which Anyone Ever Asked What Room We Were In Or To Prove By Our Key! It's Not Worth The Money! Unless You Want To Spend The Money For The View!

We Added The Anniversary Package & Are Still Waiting For Them To Deliver It Days & Weeks Later! We Checked In On Saturday Our Anniversary Was The Next Day! 7 Days At The Hotel & Not One Person Ever Even Mentioned It! But They Had No Problem Trying To Get Us To Do The TimeShare Tour! And To Top It Off Every Time We Walked Out Our Door The Rooms Around Us Had Happy Anniversary Banners On Their Doors & NOTHING FOR US! It JUst Has Been An Insult Every Step of The Way!

We Had Both Been On A Diet For The Last Four Months & Were Worried That We Would Gain A Lot Of Weight In The 7 Days We Would Be There!
WELL GAINING WEIGHT DIDN'T HAPPEN WE ACTUALLY LOST WEIGHT! IMAGINE THAT AT AN ALL INCLUSIVE RESORT WE LOST WEIGHT! We Tried The Food At Every One Of The Restaurants & Found It To Be Horrible In All Of Them! Thank God For Room Service You Could Order A BLT Or A Turkey Sandwich! Not Really Worth The Money We Paid! But You Can Always Go Across The Street To Harrys They Have Great Food & Great Service!

The Resort Itself Was Nice & Modern. The Pools Were Great! We Never Had A Problem Getting An Umbrella For Shade As In Other Reviews! The Bars Were Plentiful Just Trying To Find Edible Food Was Like Finding A Unicorn!

Now Onto The Noise You Constantly Hear Banging Noises All Night Long! The Walls & The Doors Are Paper Thin So You Can Hear Everything Everywhere! We Could Hear People Walking Down The Hall Laughing At 2am! Facing The North Side By The Sandos Resort Next Door They Have Loud Music Every Night At Least It Quits Around Midnight!

We Wouldn't Recommend Secrets The Vine Resort To Anyone Unless They Want To Be Insulted, Forgotten, Starved, Have Sleepless Nights An Pay A Lot Of Money For It!
