“Wonderful experience and even better food.”

Culinary Center: Restaurant and Cooking School
Reviewed July 26, 2012

My husband had been wanting to attend the Ritz Carlton Culinary Center's classes during our previous 2 trips to Cancun. This trip when we returned for our wedding we decided it was a must. We attended the Real Mexican cooking class. Our first task was learning Chef Rory's awesome margarita recipe. The margaritas were then shared throughout the class. The ceviche was amazing. I actually thought I didn't like ceviche until I had this. We also made chicken enchiladas and churros. All the food was delicious and Rory is not only a great chef but a great entertainer. The jokes and alcohol are flowing throughout the class. It was a really memorable experience and we decided to join Chef Rory again for the Chef's table later in our stay. Highly recommended - a nice change from going out to a Cancun restaurant (again) for dinner.

We stayed at the Ritz in February and decided to book an evening with the Chef's Table and from the first minute it was a great experience. You were greeted by Chef Rory in the lobby of the hotel, we were fashioned with the Ritz aprons and escorted down to their fabulous kitchen. You were able to help Chef Rory cook his amazing dishes or just eat, be merry and ask as many questions as you wanted. Each meal was paired with great wine and the atmosphere was fantastic. Sign up as soon as you get there because it's an intimate setting with about only a dozen guests and books up quick. I can't say enough of what a great experience it was and Chef Rory and his team made the evening quite perfect. If you have children on the trip, it's worth getting a sitter and taking advantage of this as a great date night experience. Thank you Chef Rory for a fabulous night of wonderful food and an overall great time!
