This was a fantastic hotel - on a par with any four seasons I have been to. The staff was lovely, knew our names and preferences by the end of the first day (e.g., plate of sliced mango was waiting for me every morning at breakfast). Welcoming to children, helpful. The location was good - walking distance to some of the best restaurants in the cancun area. A bus ride or $7 taxi to the main strip of cancun.

However...the tennis courts were in serious disrepair - littered with construction materials from the building next door. Totally unacceptable. And worse...NO BEACH. The beach at the Meridien and the Ritz were 100% washed away - people were laying on the sea wall as thats where the water came up to. I don't know how you rectify this problem - this is obviously something that is not the Meridien's fault but really changes the tone of the resort.

My husband and I stayed here for our first anniversary and we really enjoyed the boutique style hotel. Our room overlooked the pools and the construction, but the construction didn't bother us-most of it was confined to the higher floors on the new hotel being built. The pool area was so relaxing and there was virtually no one there. We loved the service and the breakfast buffet was great. The only thing is that the hotel is in a more quiet zone of the hotel strip. So if you want the night life, just catch the bus and if not, you are in a great place at the hotel to sit back and relax.

Loved Kids Club. My kids are still talking about how fun it was. We also loved the fact that they invited children from a nearby school come to hotel and sing Christmas songs for the guests. Every thing was wonderful

The service was very good, including handling a mix up at the spa. They went out of their way to accomodate our Spa Finder certificate. The pool side is amazing, soft salt water pools (instead of harsh chlorine) at perfect temperature. The weekends are nice, and no construction going on. However on the weekday (we experienced a Wed), there were two or three jack hammers going off next door (within 300 ft) which is hard to ignore. AAA rate is <$100 on spg.com!

+ poolside is AWESOME. my bf & i laid out and ordered from the poolside kitchen everyday. everything we ordered was delicious (try the grouper sandwich, pizza, and chicken nachos) i still can taste the mojitos in my mouth.....yuummmyy. the beach is literally a couple steps away. i walked along the beach and visited the pools of several of the neighboring beachside hotels, and i must say that the Le Meridien pool is by far the best i've seen.

+ the hotel is really close to a bus stop which is another plus. about a block of walking and you can ride the public bus to downtown for a really low local fare. beats taking a taxi all the time.

+ had a really awesome time. such a great hotel. it's not big and impersonal like other luxury hotels. it's smaller and cozy, but still romantic and beautiful. as a matter of fact, we're making plans to go again and stay at the Le Meridien.
