Safe area to walk around without worries. Plenty of things to do like shopping, eating at local restaurants, or walking around sightseeing. It was fun to go outside the resort and explore more of Cancún.

Very Americanized, as it has been for about 20 years. But good to check out. We were there last week for the 1st time in about 10 years. It's changed a little, but really still the same. Bummer to see some vacant buildings. Very sad to see Margaritaville and Pat O' brien's gone! NOt our thing, but Great beach's right across the street!

The whole Kukulcan Avenue has shops, high end stores, restaurants & many photo ops. It's a must to visit for Shopping. Kukulcan Plaza, has Soriana fully stocked grocery store reasonably priced! Luxury Avenue is beautiful with all you need & air conditioned for your comfort! The Avenue itself it tree lined with tropical foliage & kept very clean. At Christmas time Cancun & Kukulcan Ave is so beautifully decorated. Tequila Grill on the 2nd level is highly recommended because its delicious! Go there & you will not regret it!!!

I would not call Kukulkan Blvd. an attraction, it's more a place. This is where most of the hotels and resorts in Cancun are located. Caribbean Sea on one side, Nichupte Lagoon on the other. One long boulevard, perhaps 30 miles long (measured and marked along the road in kilometers, with numbers descending as you head up north from the airport) and leading to the actual city of Cancun on the mainland. Besides the resorts there are many restaurants and other attractions. Of note might by the Mayan Museum (km16) & the ruins at El Rey (km17). For those looking for shopping there are Kukulcan Plaza (km13) & La Isla (km12). We never walk much more than 1km along the road as the traffic moves very fast. There are plenty of taxi's(negotiate first) or the buses. An R1 or R2 bus will take you from your resort to downtown Cancun for about 12 pesos, get off at any point in-between. We have always felt safe on the bus.
