Blvd (Avenida) Kukulkan is where you want to stay when you are visiting Cancun. Most people know it as the "Hotel Zone". VERY clean, beautiful, lots of tourists walking around, very safe. Great shopping, high end, and there are quite a few markets and shops as well all along the Blvd.
You can easily go the length of the hotel zone on the bus, it is $8.50 pesos/per person, each way, which is 70 cents CAD. For one way, for two people it cost us $17 pesos, which was $1.41 CAD. You can catch the R1 or R2 buses anywhere along Blvd Kukulkan, and they come every few mins, there are always buses going by. Be sure to stick your arm out to flag it down if it looks like it won't stop. Most of the buses flash their lights to see if you want them to stop.
Lots of great restaurants found on Blvd Kukulkan as well! Tons of options! Prices are a bit higher because it is the main tourist zone, but we always make sure to eat at the Outback Steakhouse everytime we are in Cancun.More
