“A taste of the Carribean”
Reviewed January 21, 2013

The seafood was very good and fresh. Served tortilla chips and 3 different types of salsa from extreme hot to spicy mild.

Atmosphere was great. All seating is with a view of the bay.

“Best burger I've had in Mexico”
Reviewed December 31, 2012 via mobile

Was looking for something other than Mexican and saw Blu at La Isla mall. I saw a picture of a char grilled burger and asked if they were grilled and was told yes.

The burger was actually seasoned nicely and cooked medium, as I requested.

My wife had pasta with neat sauce, nothing special, but decent and good portion size.

A bowl of chips and dips came out quickly, so we ate well.

Missing a good burger?, look no further. Best one I've found in 7 trips to Mexico.

The waiter was prompt and polite. Lots of people walk by, but, it is a mall.

“Ok choice if already at Las Isla”
Reviewed December 1, 2012

Ate dinner there because they had plenty of TVs to watch NFL and we were already at the Las Isla shopping aea.

I agree with the other 'average' reviews, no need to repeat except:
1. The staff is agressive to get you to try their place. They give out cards that will get you 2 for 1 drinks (these are a good deal).
The aggressiveness is due to the fact that: a) this part of Las Isla contains 6 resturants; b) all are next to each other; c) all with views of the lagoon.
2. Our server was good - he knew the menu, was polite (not aggressive), and promptly served our order.
3. We ordered grilled fish (grouper). Portion was average for price, tasted fresh, and mildly seasoned.
4. The magician (and other performers) are just 'doing their thing'. We waved him off and he went elsewhere.

Bottomline: If the menu appeals to you and you want a reasonably-priced meal (not great/not bad) give it a try.

“Decent but not impressive”
Reviewed November 27, 2012

Blu is located along a trip of restaurants facing the bay. Employees of the restaurants are very aggressive and harass you into eating at their places. The waiters at Blu were the nicest so we chose them. However, the food was decent but not great. Price wise, it was okay. They claimed that their seafood was their speciality but the fish I ordered (the speciality of the specialities) was flavorless and not worth its price. The lime soup I ordered was good but not nearly the best I had on the trip. Our waiter was nice but could have been more attentive to us. To make matters worse, they have some sort of magician working on commission there who stalks you until you're done eating to preform some magic tricks expecting a tip from you. Fortunately, we were able to avoid that, but others we not so lucky. On a positive note, the band they had playing there was very good and the margarita was pretty good. Long story short, it was decent but nothing noteworthy.

“good food not so great service”
Reviewed May 30, 2012

This is a ok resturant our waiter wasnt the best and lost focus of us when a bigger group came we had to call him over for him to come to our table .. the food was good came out pretty quick .. the food price is resonable...You just have to watch out at the end because the waiter puts what they want for the tip which i dnt think is correct it should be based on service not from what they want..
