We took the Samba Catamaran to Isla Mujeres, with snorkeling, beach club lunch, shopping, spinnaker parasailing and unlimited drinks. The crew made this a fantastic day. Everyone on the crew was bilingual (English/Spanish) and several spoke three or more languages. They were fun and clearly professional in their handling of the boat and the passengers. Loved our day with them!

This excursion was over priced. It's about $100 per person and includes snorkeling, drinks, lunch, and a stop at Isla Mujeres. The snorkeling was very disorganized and we had to swim around several other groups of snorkelers. The lunch was ok, it was buffet style at a busy clubhouse. I would recommend taking the ferry for $15 per person round trip from Playa Tortugas instead of one of these tours. You can rent a golf cart on Isla Mujeres for $50 total and drive yourself around and do all the excursion things on your own and save a lot of money.

We went about a week ago and had a great time. We went on a Tuesday and once we were on the boat, we were told we wouldn't be able to snorkel due to the high winds. We got off of the boat and went the next day Wednesday and we were able to snorkel. We were not able to parasail because of the winds. One thing I will say, is don't bother buying the sun tan lotion the people on the dock try to sell you. The Samba employees will not take away your other sun tan lotion. It was $15 for a very small bottle and I didn't even use it. The snorkeling was decent not as good as other places I've been. I don't think we were taken to the usual place because of the high winds. The shark experience was awesome. I was so scared but had a great time. The drinks on the boat were also very good. The isla Mujeres was also fun. We were taken very good care of by the employees. I would recommend this trip. It was a lot of fun and worth the money.

We had so much fun! Due to the wind and waves we weren't able to snorkel or parasail... but we still agreed that it was the best day of our trip! Well worth the money, I would highly recommend it!

There was some confusion on the dock when someone we thought was with Samba stopped us to tell us some rules about the park, coral etc, then tried to sell us $30 bottles of sunscreen. We were not warned about this ahead of time. Once on the boat we were met with a friendly, but crass skipper who looks like a Mexican version of Guy Fieri. The service was good, but you can tell that the boat is maintained my men, as the "ladies room" is not well maintained AT ALL. It was a fright! The snorkeling portion was so-so, there was not a lot of help or instruction for us first timers. The water is warm and beautiful. We sailed for a long time, which is great if you don't get motion sickness. :( We stopped for lunch at a somewhat shabby beach location. The food was good and the bathrooms were very clean. Also, at the lunch stop, we had the opportunity to hold a nurse shark and have a photo taken (extra charge for the actual photo). The sharks were held in a water pen. You walk down stairs into the water, hold the shark for a second, then exit the pen on the other side. In retrospect...it was quite sad really. Two sharks in a small pen....all the time. Then it was back on the boat to sail to the shopping area. Along the way the skipper asked if anyone was celebrating something special. No one mentioned anything, so I spoke up that my husband and I were celebrating our anniversary. He had us come up to the front of the boat, introduced us then we all the the boat in the YMCA and Macarena dances. Then we were given a bottle of tequila as a gift. Very fun. Upon our return from shopping, we noticed that our bottle of tequila had been opened and the crew was drinking it. My husband mentioned that , and they gave us a new bottle. It was somewhat unnerving that some of the crew had been drinking. The sail back was even better. We sat on the very top of the boat. Better views, smoother sailing. Then we had the opportunity to try the parasail type thing. Although they don't offer lifejackets for it, and said you needed to be good swimmers. Honestly, there would never have been enough time if everyone on the boat wanted to try it. Maybe that's why they try to deter you from doing it.?? All in all, it was worth the $90
