We have just arrived home from our trip to Mexico and we booked this trip for my partner and his love of the ocean, what an amazing day! we took our two boys, 12 and 14 and they also loved it. Our guide Lisa was fantastic as were the Mexican guides that travelled with us too. Plenty of time in the water with the Whale Sharks, 30 minutes in total is more than enough as it is very tiring but we were able to get within a metre of them. Well worth the money, make sure you take the sickness tablets they offer before the trip !

I can’t thank Ocean Tour for making our trip unforgettable. Our first guide Lisa was incredibly knowledgeable, professional and so informative. She picked us up on time from our hotel in Playa de Carmen and explained everything very clearly. From there we met our tour guides Maria, our captain Javier, and staff. They were amazing at spotting these magnificent creatures.. the whale sharks! We snorkeled so close to them! It was so special and an incredible experience. There were easily over 20 Whale Sharks eating and sharing their space with us! We were also very fortunate to see a manta ray! Maria took amazing pictures and was so much fun!! After seeing the whale sharks, we snorkeled in Isla de Mujeres( gorgeous!) and ate the most amazing ceviche, chips, and guacamole made by the staff! The staff’s hospitality was impeccable, the boat was very comfortable, and the food was amazing. My fiancé and I were dubious to do a group tour(thinking we wouldn’t have enough time with the whale sharks), but after experiencing Ocean Tour.. there’s no doubt we made the best decision! I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend Ocean Tours.

Went with my mother who has bad knees and doesn’t get around too well and they were great with her on both the excursions we bought from them! Helpful, kind, patient, fun, and funny! Cora and her team were great on whale shark discovery. Niko and his team were fabulous on our tulum combo ruins, snorkeling package. Def worth the money! Don’t go with anyone else!

This was an unforgettable experience! After arriving at the most beautiful beach, we were taken out in a boat and spent an hour snorkelling along the second largest coral reef in the world! We saw turtles, sting rays and so many beautiful fish. After drying off, we made our way to the cenotes and had a Mexican lunch (the empanadas were delicious)! We then did a walking tour around a dry cenote and after we were taken to a cenote that we could swim in. The caves were beautiful and the water was refreshing and crystal clear! Our guide Luca was incredibly knowledgable and made us feel safe at all times during the day.

I would 100% recommend this trip to anyone travelling to Cancun!

Did a great tour today. Well organized and all time guided by Nico C, from Argentina, speaking fluently English. Picked up at the hotel on time, drove to the turtle place, got the occasion to swim 3 times with a turtle. Really cool. After that we visited two very nice cenotes and got all explanations needed on it. Light lunch. We ended up with a presentation of the pictures taken and received a memory stick with all pictures for 40$. Fantastic day and good souvenirs.

I would highly recommend this excursion. My friend and I booked Ocean Tour’s Whale Shark Adventure while staying at The Excellence Riviera Cancun resort. We were promptly picked up at our resort at 7:15 am and greeted by Victor, our tour guide for the day. During the 25-30 minute ride to the boat dock, he explained in depth the plan for the day, shared some of the previous day’s photos with us, and answers any and all our questions, making us feel comfortable and very excited for what we would doing over the course of the next 7 hours with him. Once we arrived at the dock, the location of a small local restaurant, a continental breakfast was provided. Restrooms at the facility were clean, and there was even a small stand there to purchase t-shirts, hats, etc... Within 30 minutes, we boarded the boat, with Jairo and Daniel, who were our crew for the day. We were provided with snorkel gear for the day and life vests. We set out for a little over an hours ride offshore to the migration waters where the whale sharks and manta rays feed. Jairo and Daniel were amazing, constantly positioning and repositioning the boat for teams of two snorkelers to get in the water at just the right time for an up close look and swim with these beautiful creatures. Victor got in the water, guided us to the whale sharks and took many underwater pictures, which were later provided to us on a usb drive ($40 - and well worth it). After approximately 1.5 hrs. of snorkelling with the whale sharks - and there are plenty - we headed in to snorkel a reef off of Isle Mujeres. We enjoyed seeing many beautiful tropical fish, coral and crystal clear water. While we snorkelled, Jairo and Daniel prepared our lunch, fresh fish ceviche and guacamole with chips. Beverages were also provided. 30 minutes later, back onto the boat, and a short ride to Isle Mujeres’s North Beach. We swam in the warm waters there, and our lunch was served on a table made from our floated life jackets! Very clever! A short time later, we were back on the boat, and made our way to the dock on the mainland. It’s a long day, a little pricey, but well-worth it, as you don’t get to experience something like this everyday. Jairo and Daniel are expert boatsmen, personable and polite. Victor is most knowledgeable and makes everyone feel comfortable, and respects each person’s desired level of engagement in the day’s activities. Be sure to tip these guys well - they work very hard to give you the best experience possible. Thank you to Jairo, Daniel, and Victor for a wonderful experience.
